Uromastyx is a genus of 13 African and Asian agamid lizard species.  Lizards in the genus Uromastyx are primarily herbivorous, but occasionally eat insects and other small animals, especially young lizards. Their size ranges from 10 inches (U. macfadyeni) to 36 inches or more (U. aegyptia).
