Third in this series is this skewer soup thing called “oden” in Japanese. Originated in japan, oden is a pot dish with eggs, tofu, fish cakes, meatballs, seaweed cooked in radish broth. Unlike hot pot, oden ingredients are ones that can withstand long time of cooking because these skewers are often sold submerged in radish broth. I often find them in Japanese convenience stores where they all have an oden section. You picked the skewers and they put them in a paper cup with some warm broth. I remember vividly enjoying these after middle school with friends, especially after a long dreadful winter day. These are the ultimate snack in my opinion because they are bite sized, varied, savory, shareable and come with its own drink!
