DAY 806) Contrasta - What Lies Ahead

So Ryu Umemoto died at the age of 37 in 2011, which is incredibly sad, especially as he was one of the most fantastic FM synth musicians to ever make music for video games.
I have an interesting story regarding him. In 2009 or so, he posted a WIP of an FM synth track he’d made on an FM synth forum that I lurked on. I downloaded it but it was not tagged properly, so for the longest time I had that file sitting on my computer with absolutely no idea who wrote it or what it was.
It was this song.
5-6 years later I found out that it was written by him (and later learned it was written for this game, and finally got to hear the full finished version that you’re hearing now). It was an incredibly poignant moment to me and really served as a reminder both on how transient life is but also on how small the world is. Really glad I eventually learned what it was!
Anyways this is all just funky 7/8 the whole time!!
