what’s wrong with her? O.O
Spoilers for the Sera romance with an elf.
I just thought of this, and now it's my headcanon. Varric comes up with really corny pun names for characters in his books and stories. One that he feels is rather clever, the escaped mage, Phil Lacktree.
I LOVE IT. I can definitely picture him as a punmaster.
God, between him, Anders, and Hawke, with the silly names and puns and corny jokes, everyone else is probably in a permanent state of [groans] get out.
I'm thinking of trying to "rush" through to do the basic quests just so I can get to Skyhold and then chill and take the rest of the game slowly. I'm reading that there isn't really anything to miss if you do that though? Like if I just rush through the Hinterlands, I can just go back and get everything later and finish it later. I'm so anxious to go to Skyhold. :P
That's pretty much what I ended up doing -- I was spending so much time in the Hinterlands and I was fnially like, okay I should probably move the main story along. And you can always go back and do side quests, I've been taking breaks to do that in between each main story quest. This game is just SO BIG that if you stop to do all the side quests as soon as you get them, it'll take forever for you to advance the main story. (And Skyhold is really really cool.)
The combat and low number of potions is making me flustered though for real. Rogues have no "guard" ability themselves. And that makes it really tough.
YEAH... I don't like the potions system. At all. I'd rather just have them as a standard inventory item and be able to buy them and carry as many as I want, like in the other games. I appreciate the lack of injuries after dying in battle, but I'd gladly take that back if it meant being able to carry more than 8 potions at a time.
Also, I want the spirit healer specialization back. :c

i saw the other day when you reblogged a screenshot of you in the Circle Tower in DAO, there was a picture picture of Dog next to your Warden's portrait. Was that a mod? Or is there some sort of way to call out Dog as a pet I didn't know before?
It's a mod. It turns dog into the equivalent of a summon so you don't have to use a party slot for him. It's a little bit finickky to use because the game isn't designed to have him as a summon, but it works well enough. It does mean he ends up photobombing things a lot but that's in character.
[DA:I spoilers re: Sebastian]

have you heard about Sebastian at all? I’m fine with spoilers.
YEAH.... i'm upset about him too. i'll put it under a cut for anyone else who's avoiding spoilers.

I’m tempted to make Beth into a Grey Warden so I can headcanon that Anders is actually with Beth, but no one is saying anything about it. Or they don’t know that Anders tagged along. Since they are both apostates AND Grey Wardens.
ohh I really like that!! in two of my playthroughs I had a rogue Hawke, and I made Bethany a Warden in one of them, so maybe that'll be my headcanon for that worldstate. (especially since I love Bethany and that will let me headcanon that she's safe from any Warden weirdness too, haha)
I feel like Bethany is also the kind of person who can like...call him out and bring him back down to earth when he needs it, but she also strikes me as having a measure of patience when it's needed as well. (which is also something I really appreciate about Merrill too -- that whole... 'do no harm but take no shit' sort of feeling I get from them.)
