HPMC used in lightweight plastering plaster/ lightweight stucco plaster
The function of lightweight plastering plaster/ lightweight stucco plaster is mainly to prevent the water from being absorbed by the wall when the plaster stays in the wall. This is very obvious in the lightweight walls such as bricks, aerated concrete walls and porous insulation boards. The lack of water in the plaster will cause incomplete hydration, causing the plaster to separate from the lightweight walls and the shell to fall off. This is the common wall hollowing and shedding in the construction of lightweight plastering plaster/ lightweight stucco plaster. HPMC can maintain the water contained in the plaster, ensure the hydration reaction of the slurry at the interface thus ensure the bonding strength.

About Hydroxy Propyl Methyl Cellulose(HPMC)
Hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose (HPMC) is a non-ionic cellulose ether obtained by cellulose alkalization, etherification, neutralization and washing.
HPMC has properties of good water retention, thickening, dispersing, emulsifying, film-forming etc. It is the first choice additives for production of high quality building materials .
In building materials, the addition amount of HPMC is very low, only 0.1%-5%, but it plays an irreplaceable role and can significantly improve the water retention, fluidity and lubricity of building materials. Building materials added with HPMC are easier to mix and use.
So HPMC improves the work efficiency of construction workers, extends the open time, improves the bonding strength and forms a smooth and delicate surface coating.
HPMC additives applies in plaster

HPMC can be applied in many kinds of plaster. For example, add 1KG in 1000KGS of lightweight plaster. Add 0.5KG in 1000KGS of heavy plaster.
