i think hearing "i didn't see this ship before, but after your art i understand it and/or even ship it myself" is one of the nicest compliments i get, because it makes me feel like i'm representing something meaningful and sweet about a pairing and having people understand what i think is so great and captivating about them. i've gotten a couple asks like this and sometimes i forget to respond but i always really appreciate them :) thank you very much

idk, just felt like "huh?" at that one. I get she also probably doesn't eat enough just in general, and maybe there are yet more factors at play... but I feel like a 6' girl in good physical and mental health would be able to maintain a healthy weight without it being a huge ordeal. Not shitting on your design, it's more just the neurotic side of me going "ouchie that's not how nutrition works agh the pain." idk lol

tbh when I first saw her I thought it was tied to the cannibalism stuff from vanilla, like only human flesh could sustain her and she either hadn't figured it out yet or was running on the bare minimum as a result of murder being hard and/or morally icky. That's clearly not the case, it's just what I thought lol.

so i did say in the original ask when asked if she was eating properly, my answer was “probably not”

its also more lifestyle and activity level more than anything too. im imagining doll isn’t exactly in the best state mentally (depressed college student) she doesn’t drive and likely walks to work/around in general so she’s got a higher metabolic rate than someone like uzi who’s shorter and more sedentary.

Honestly it really just depends on the quality of the backing, I feel. I've seen shitty metal ones, rubber ones that don't hold well, and perfectly secure versions of both of those. High quality butterfly backings might be top tier, though, since they kind of lock in place. I prefer rubber ones for the color options, and I haven't had any problems with my pins.

No parents for either of them, but this was actually a concept I played around with earlier in their development 8) It ended up being mostly present in the Human AU, where both of them are estranged from their families.

Mike in particular had a strict family while Host had a more neglectful one. But yeah, as Darkners, these hypothetical relatives would not approve of the relationship 🤣

It's already canon in the AU that other Microphone Darkners are mistrustful of Host, and Mike's broken microphone status adds to this considering how their species does tend to be prone to abuse due to serving others by nature but having a very small stature ;v;

Be nice to the Microphone darkners, they're the darkner equivalent of a prey animal and live in a world that's way too big for them

So, yet another nitpicky question asked in good faith out of genuine curiosity, because I am sincerely invested in this AU: why is Uzi named that? Were her parents just especially creative, or somehow connected to Jewish culture? Was she named after the gun? Is it perhaps more of a nickname that stuck, or a shortened version of something else? There are a lot of possibilities here.

Additionally, second tangentially related question: I'm assuming your Uzi was born and raised in America based on the flag in her ref image, but were her parents, or grandparents? What Indian ethnicity/culture(s) does her family identify with, if any, and does she speak any of the 22 Indian languages? Or is she just genetically of Indian descent, with no real connection to any specific "heritage?" (ik being Indian isn't a very big part of her character so you maybe haven't written all this out, and that's cool if so. India just has a lot of cultures in it. It's a very diverse and interesting country. I didn't even know they had 22 languages until I looked it up for this ask, lol. Like, 22 languages?? In one country?? What??)

Man, that turned into like 5 questions, lol. Sorry. In case you couldn't tell, I'm really into your AU right now, lmao. (Also I just went up a dose on Vivance and it's hitting me like a train and I'm chattering like a parrot at anyone who crosses my field of vision lmaooo)

Ok about Uzi, so funny enought we HAVE written about her "heritage", America born, she has little to no connection, genetic ties is basically all, speaks English and some very sparce Russian. But she does cook and likes dabbling and looking up stuff from her heritage but it's not particularly important or close to her.

And this stems from her mum Nori, who is alive in this AU, but due to events that we will talk about when we get to show off Nori, she also has very little cultural heritage and also does not speak any of the Indian languages but she WAS born in India.

Uzi's name is because Nori is weird and likes guns, the Doorman name comes from Khan, American born, who is a Korean / white American something.
