Multimodal Texts

One of the multimodal texts I collected was the recently released trailer for Suicide Squad. The trailer uses visual communication in its settings and character design, linguistic communication in the individual quotes and writing for the credits/title, aural communication in the music and sound effect choices, spatial in the set design and posistioning of the main characters in realtion to supporting cast, and gestural communication to signal character development throughout the trailer, and potentially, the movie.
Another of the multimodal texts I collected is the confused man meme. This meme uses visual communication through the picture, gestural communication with the man’s confused face, linguistic through the use of question marks, and spatial through the posistioning of the question marks.
These texts are different in that the first one uses all five forms of communication to convey a complex message, while the second one uses ony four forms and conveys a more simple message.

just finished Act 3 man and wow I'm so freaking confused like dave screwin' with his trolls in reverse wow thats some serious heroic mediocrity like i know a lot about homestuck already because hello i use tumblr so im kind of like a noob but not really??? but once you get down and dirty with the actual series its like...fuck is going on man i feel like im high flying and spiraling into a never ending vortex of hussie's mind-boggling douchebaggery and 4 kids' antics with an alien species who are just as mind-boggling douchebaggy how do you even explain this to your boyfriend on a saturday night like "sorry babe cant go to the movies with you im trying desperately to homestuck" and he's just like "fuck, man. i'm losing my girl to a tool named Andrew Hussie" sad part is he's probably right there, man onto act 4 no regrets i guess someone wish me luck
