Type:

* Kayn squarely falls into the possessive-protective archetype, though with very well repressed sadistic urges (even without Rhaast’s influence). He feels sheer reverence towards his darling, and believes that he has to be better than everyone else in her life. Everyone else is a wolf is sheep’s clothing. She deserves better. Honestly, this probably makes him act worse more than it makes him act better.

Attraction:

* It all starts rather innocently - on both parties’ ends. Probably rather casually on Kayn’s part. You simply caught his eye, he caught your eye, and you exchanged flirtatious passes at one another, just some non-serious fun. Honestly, he might have tried to seduce you just to prove he could.

* For this reason I don’t think Kayn really sought out any “type” of girl, but he does gravitate towards the gentler kind, subconsciously.

* And that’s the reason it doesn’t stay as simple fun. Kayn doesn’t have many truly gentle figures in his life, and never has, so being with you is a refreshing and intoxicating experience.

* Of course, the way he puts you on a pedestal makes everyone around you - including him - look so... rough, in his own mind at least. It makes you look like a single, blooming flower in a wilted forest. Doesn’t that make you vulnerable?

* He never properly confesses - he wants you to fall in love with him too, and hopefully confess first. After all, what would it say about him to be rejected by you, one of the few truly good people he knows?

* In the meantime, he resolves to simply stay in your presence, and drop hints. None too subtle hints. We’re talking “spirits, I wonder who put those flowers on your doorstep?” levels of “hints”. 

* Of course, as his feelings grow, he realizes that if - spirits forbid - he’s ever taken over by Rhaast, you’d be one of the first in danger. Even if by that point it’s not really him anymore, he can’t bear that thought. It steels his resolve even more against the Darkin’s influence - and though Rhaast is baffled by it, he’s still quite patient.

As A Partner:

* If you do confess to him, he’d honestly probably tacklehug you on the spot. It’s a pretty good indicator of how the honeymoon months of your relationship go, really.

* Kayn’s the very affectionate and touchy sort, towards his partner. Not in public mind you, he’s pretty bothered by PDA, but in private? Oh absolutely. It’s almost overwhelming at times.

* Outwardly, he’s arrogant, and a little dismissive of everyone else, aggressive and competitive - but with just the two of you, it’s like flipping a switch. It’s no surprise to you, since at this point he’s shown this side of him to you many times before you got together. The side of him that’s much warmer and friendlier.

* Though, he’s also extremely defensive. He doesn’t know much about supporting people emotionally, so his first response to seeing you upset or angry is to want to know who hurt you, so he can hurt them right back.

Maybe it should have been a warning sign.

* He keeps Rhaast, and the steadily growing visual corruption the scythe brings, hidden from most - even you, for a while. He feels he shouldn’t burden you with that knowledge, or the fear that it would bring you - he doesn’t want you to be afraid of him. Of course, you finding out is inevitable...

* Incidentally, if it turns out you’re upset with him, or something he did, he’d... have no idea what to do, honestly. He could apologize a thousand times and it still won’t be enough. It’d be such a blow to his pride, because then it means his actions were no better than the ingrates around you.

Yandere Behaviour:

* That’s the word to describe how Kayn views everyone you surround yourself with, ingrates. He feels like he’s the only one who truly realizes your worth, after all, if everyone else did, they would treat you with the same reverence he does.

* Darling is vulnerable in Kayn’s mind, we’ve established that - and nothing can change his mind. Really, he thinks a lot about the ways your impossible kindness could be taken advantage of, obsesses over it even. Thinks about how he could have done so - but no, he hasn’t. He’s fought an ancient evil to a stalemate for possession over his body and mind, fighting off twisted thoughts of mundane origin is nothing.

* Of course, he’s quite aware that anyone else would have been taken over by Rhaast almost instantly. He’s disciplined enough to keep both his own darker thoughts and the darkin at bay. But normal people? The ingrates? Who knows what they’d do, to the woman Kayn treasures most, given half a chance?

* In a relationship with Kayn, it soon becomes obvious that he doesn’t exactly get along with your friends. His gentler side is for you only. While he never explicitly gives you ultimatums, the fact that he clings close by you so often and acts the way he does to people who aren’t you quickly leads many to abandon you to avoid dealing with him. How intentional this is, you’re never quite sure.

* Driving everyone away is one thing. Of course, you still have some people who’ll stick with you. But in Kayn’s eyes, they still don’t deserve your presence. Technically he doesn’t either, but at least he treats you how you deserve to be treated. And that’s what ultimately leads him to kidnap his darling.

* If you never confessed to him, or very straightforwardly rebuked his advances, the kidnapping comes somewhat earlier. The fact that you don’t feel the same way towards him is... crushing, really. It gets him to wonder what could possibly be wrong with him, that he can’t get you to love him back. Still, saving you from an ungrateful, cold world is the least he could do for you, right?

* Though he’s a relatively gentle captor, it doesn’t change the fact he doesn’t know how to deal with you being unhappy. Of course you’d be unhappy about it, but if you don’t warm up to him eventually, what does that say about him? Not to mention, having you so close by all the time all but seals your doom should Rhaast ever take over. He really, really didn’t think this through.

But he hopes eventually, you’ll be grateful.

Other:

* As far as petnames go, you’ll be hearing “babe”, “sunshine”, and “honey” a lot! In public though, he’ll use a diminutive of your name or some other nickname for you.

if there’s one thing a person can count on when it comes to winter in la, it’s the fact that there definitely won’t be any snow. so when a freak blizzard rolls in out of nowhere and buries the city - trapping most residents indoors - it’s clear to the denizens of the shadow world that something magical is at work. the mastermind behind the nearly all that has gone wrong in the shadow world over the last few months is at it again with a brand new plan to get their hands on some of the institute’s most prized possessions - as well as a certain sword that’s on loan from the silent city. unfortunately for our resident evil genius things don’t quite go according to plan, yet again, and this time they’ll be forced out into the light.

Type:

* Thresh mainly a sadistic yandere, with possessive as a close second. His darling is his plaything, his prisoner, and if the Shadow Isles is a place where the sun doesn’t shine, darling won’t even see the little light of day there is.

Attraction:

* It takes a special blend of brave and stupid to even go to the Shadow Isles in the first place. Unfortunately for you, that is exactly Thresh’s “type” – resolute enough to not break immediately, but still the sort who’d fall for his tricks. In other words, endlessly amusing! We already know he seeks out stubborn and strong souls normally, so obviously he’d like the same in his darling.

* When it comes to stalking, Thresh isn’t particularly subtle, or even that patient. The sound of chains clanging together, growing louder, closer... but it’s hardly the most alarming thing on the Isles, maybe it’s just a ghost? Maybe it’s something minor, that you can deal with. Maybe it’s just ambient noise, nothing that’s come to hurt you.

* It is not any of those things.

* What makes you different from any of Thresh’s other victims? What makes you worth remembering and keeping around? Thresh himself can’t put it into words, but he knows that whatever drove him to do this, it was triggered by seeing something in your eye. Something he wants to make fade, while at the same time wanting to keep for as long as possible.

* Though, it’s not like he’ll explain that to you. To you, he’ll claim it was simply a whim and nothing more.

Yandere Behaviour:

* While he could just kill you and take your soul, it just isn’t the same as keeping you around as you are. I figure the only time he would take your soul is if you were just about to die, maybe by some accident or miscalculation. That way, at least you’ll stay with him.

* But would it even matter, whether you were alive or dead? You’re equally imprisoned anyway, and the torment can’t get much worse than it already is.

* When it comes to any resistance or stubbornness – or lack of it – Thresh sees it as a win either way. It’s just as fun to see you try and stand up to him as it is satisfying to see how broken you’ve become. It’s not like either helps you, though. The former is a convenient excuse to punish you, and the latter is taken as quiet acceptance of whatever happens.

* One thing Thresh is fond of doing, from time to time, is letting you get the idea of escaping, or somehow getting one over on him. Practically dangling the possibility right in front of your face, and most temptingly, making it look easy. You might get somewhat far, maybe even feeling the fresh air. But it’s always a trap, designed to give you hope and then snatch it away. Thresh loves seeing the hope in his darling’s eyes turn to terror.

* Amidst his sadism, it’s easy to forget how possessive Thresh is, especially given that people rarely find you anyways. Plus, when you do meet someone, his response is... peculiar. It becomes obvious that he’s looking the other way, but not ignorant. Given the above though... it’s best you get your new companion to run, before they try anything to help you. Because that’s when Thresh will pounce.

As A Partner:

* What partner?

* Sardonic-ness aside: Thresh’s relationship with the concept of love and how that relates to how he feels about you is... complicated. He’s been so twisted over the years, both by corruption by evil artifacts, and the whole incident with the Shadow Isles on top of that, that he doesn’t quite understand what love is anymore.

* At the same time he still remembers it, and some part of him still longs for companionship. Of course, his idea of companionship is... not very healthy for his companion, let’s say.

* The desire to be loved by his darling is always there, simmering in the background. Obviously, he doesn’t understand how to do this, exactly. At times, it bubbles up to the surface and he demands it from you, and lashes out when you (quite understandably) don’t do this. And this time, it’s not sadistic joy that propels him, it’s genuine anger and frustration.

* If, for some reason, you did accept... I think Thresh would just be at a complete loss for what to do now. There’s no guarantee anything will change, though. Under normal circumstances, this bizarre mood fades after some time and it’s back to business as usual, so that’s likely what happens either way.

* There are times when Thresh will actually treat you with basic decency, which you best savour. You might even have a half-pleasant conversation with him. He has some rather interesting insights on the human psyche, but any conversation about that is going to be uncomfortable given what he does with that information.

* Though he almost never bothers to remember his victims, Thresh is surprisingly adept at remembering small, useless trivia about you. Yes, figuring out your fears and insecurities is one thing, but it’s a little odd to find out he remembers what your favourite flower is, or for him to wish you a happy birthday (on the actual date – and time, if you tell him – of your birth nonetheless).

Other:

* Thresh associates you with flowers in general – a beautiful, living rarity on the Shadow Isles, and quite delicate to boot.

* As a rule of thumb, the more nauseatingly, dissonantly cutesy the petname he’s currently using for you is, the more trouble you’re in. If it’s during one of the more peaceful times, he doesn’t use petnames at all.

With a groan, you open your eyes to a tiled floor.

The dull pain in the your head tempts you to close your eyes again, but as your vision slowly refocuses, you notice the iron bars in front of you, rising up from the floor. Immediately you wonder, did you get in trouble with the law while drinking last night? Or perhaps someone ratted you out for being a pit fighter, or...

There’s a burning in your shoulders. Your arms are tied behind your back with crisscrossing ropes. Something isn’t right.

Sylas as a Yandere – Alphabet Prompts

Affection - How do they show their love and affection? How intense would it get?

Sylas is both physically and verbally affectionate, and he’ll usually mix the two. Think stuff like, him putting an arm around darling’s waist, pulling them towards him, and stroking their hair as he comments on how wonderful they’ve been to him lately. In front of other people he tends to tone this down, but he will praise darling in front of other people.

Ideals - What kind of future do they have in mind for/with their darling?

Obviously he imagines a future where his revolution is successful, and his darling is right there beside him for all of it. More specifically to darling though, he would like to marry them eventually, when things settle down for the two of them in that ideal future. And depending on darling’s personality, he probably envisions them as... probably far more submissive than they are now.

He’s aware of how ironic it is, that he suffered so much while imprisoned, and yet wants to “imprison” the one he loves, in some way. He tries to rationalize it to himself by promising he’ll be good to darling, that they won’t suffer like he did.

Kisses - How do they act around or with their darling?

Around other people, especially fellow revolutionaries, Sylas would prefer to focus on whatever is at hand, even if darling is there. It’s a conscious choice on his part, he wants to give his all to the revolution, and doesn’t want people getting the idea that darling is distracting him from anything. Still, he can’t help but gush occasionally, and he’ll never hesitate to snap at someone who tries anything with darling.

Once they’re alone, darling is his sole focus. He’s quite open what he truly feels about things in these moments, including how he feels about darling’s behaviour. Even if he’s disappointed or upset by darling, he’s at least somewhat affectionate in tone of voice and his words. Honey catches the flies, not vinegar.

Xoanon - How much would they revere or worship their darling? To what length would they go to win their darling over?

Oh he adores darling, though not to the point of worship. After all, fighting for a better future is wonderful and all, but wouldn’t it be so much better to have someone you love to share it with?

A group of kids pretended to be their friend only so they could get class work answers or money from them. But would pretty much ignore them the rest of the time.

When Penny finally stood up to them about not wanting to share their answers or give them money anymore the kids stopped pretending to be their friend in favor of just ignoring them all together. The only time they'd ever pay attention to Penny would be to lock Penny in closets or bathrooms then 'forget' them there until someone else happened upon them and let them out.

The teacher's didn't do or say anything about it even when Penny brought the actions up because the kids just 'forgot' so it wasn't 'that bad'. Other kids in the class were either on Penny's former 'friends' side, didn't care enough to acknowledge Penny's existence or were afraid of being targeted for bullying themselves so they didn't do anything to intervene either.
