About the Dae ho discourse... I too used used to think he's a case of stolen valor but doing some research you'll see that his character is based on an IRL shooting incident in the marines.
Dae ho said he was in 1140th marine, meaning he served in the year 2011, which is when IRL the Ganghwa Island shooting happened (look it up) where a marine corporal shot his own colleagues
I'll stand by the theory that Dae ho got trauma from an incident like this and was discharged after, so it does make sense for him to be incompetent. His character is a critique sending soft kids like him to the army who are unfit for it & get traumatized instead (and also the army itself).
This seems one of the things that foreigners might miss about a SK show addressing its country's issues so yeah I don't blame people.

Okay, I’m back with one last NEGATIVE thing. I don’t really like KG3 Nugget. I LIKE him. He’s Nugget but- he’s off. I don’t exactly know what it is, but he just feels different in a way that’s unlike him. The goo thing is odd, I don’t know why that’s his thing. I get that characters in general go crazy over the goo, but for him it feels weird. I think they lean too far into the weird kid thing in this one, like he’s too weird? Nugget in KG1 is weird, but he’s also got a head on him too. He’s a complex character that while being super weird and creepy, deep down has a lot of strong negative feelings about his own loneliness and trauma of being forced to forget his best friend. Here, I don’t get that. I just get a kid who likes to eat good because the tiny voice in his brain is telling him it tastes good.

Steve is a great character, we all love him, but he’s clearly over-rated. He’s the white, popular, straight, rich guy in a show about outcast and being different and a nerd or someone who struggle with societal norm in the 80’s, every other main characters stand out of the “norm” but he don’t, he never should have been everyone’s favourite when other more complex characters exist

Steve actually does fit the "struggling with societal norms in the 80s" though. Even back in the 80s, men were the breadwinners of the house. Men were the workers. Men weren't as emotionally vulnerable. Men weren't the stay at home dads, not like men today. Men weren't really spending that much time with their children.
Part of Steve's progress quite literally is him going against the expected norm of a man in the 80s. He wants children. He wants to take care of his children. He learns how to be emotionally vulnerable. He wants more than a superficial relationship/marriage. (We literally see this in his scenes with Nancy when he shares his dreams and his feelings for her. And even when he talks to Robin about what kind of relationship he wants.) What Steve wants, is absolutely different than what most men in the 80s wanted/were like.
People have their reasons as to why Steve is their favorite. People love a redemption arc. People love character growth. People identify with Steve. He's not an overrated character simply because he may have better development than other characters. Y'all can blame the writers for not developing some of the other characters, but that has nothing to do with Steve. And people don't have to like the more "complex" characters, either. Steve is a complex character. They all are, in their own ways. It's not a competition of who can be more complex, who can be more of an outcast, who can have more traumatic experiences, etc.
