In another world, Chelsea's not a villain, but Ruby's family isn't on board with Ruby hanging out with her, leading to this argument between Ruby's mom and grandma that the two girls are eavesdropping on.
Side note: I also made them gothic/punk because...you can't stop me.
"The Deep Sea Angel & The Deep Sea Devil"
A what if scenario that's a little different from the last one with these two as students from the sea (and nothing more), and liked each other.
Autumn outfits on the left and summer outfits on the right, with Chelsea finishing a run at the gym. Their relationship is 'bashful angel/flirty devil" (complete with devil horns and angel wing-like fins.)
Ruby's POV: Ruby defends her brother from bullies and is surprised that Chelsea (not knowing Chelsea's a siren yet), the Mean Queen B (for b*tch), is actually being a nice person. She thanks Chelsea, who starts taking interest in her and flirting with her. Ruby gets flustered...until Chelsea tries to make a big move on her. Ruby rejects, not being ready to move that fast. Chelsea, visibly upset, moves on from this blunder of hers and distances herself from Ruby. Ruby likes Chelsea, but still stands up for herself when she feels uncomfortable. That being said, Ruby rejects others who are interested because she's secretly holding out for Chelsea, still trying to figure out what she wants.
Chelsea's POV: In this AU, Chelsea's family was ostracized just for being sirens. She was bullied in childhood until she stood up against them and made her too afraid to mess with...but also too afraid to talk to her, let alone befriend her. She moves to the surface world for a fresh start. When she learns Ruby is a kraken, she respects Ruby's desire for a fresh start in a new place and keeps quiet about what Ruby is. When she sees Ruby and her brother get bullied for their appearances and are about to find out what they are, Chelsea defends them. Chelsea is taken aback by Ruby's gratitude and takes an interest i how genuine she is, compared to the vain and clique-y high school popular kids that she (Chelsea) only aligned with to avoid being at the bottom of the social ladder (since that can lead to being bullied). When Ruby rejects Chelsea's move, instead of being vindictive, Chelsea sees herself in Ruby and is reminded of the discomfort she felt from when she was messed with. Chelsea keeps her distance, but she's determined to earn Ruby's trust and affection. All in due time.
