“Leo,after this can we –.”

“Quiet.” Leo said abruptly, shuttingDonnie up, and grasped the hilts of his katana’s. “I sense something, someone.”

At this, Donnie pulled out his Bo,eyes searching for any threat. Silence embarked the rooftop. No one spoke, andneither of them released their weapons.

Over thirty seconds of tranquility, twentyFootbots sprung out and surrounded the two.

Leo took out his katana blades outfrom his sheathe, and Donnie faced Leo.

“We should call up the guys.” Donnietold him, his gut twisting in unknown pain, and stepped forward to Leo.

“We can handle it, Donnie.” Leoresponded, and before Donnie can answer back, Leo already ascended intothe crowd of Footbots and fought.

“This will not end well.” Donniemuttered to himself, whirling his Bo around before joining Leo.

After blurs of Footbots going down,and more coming, Leo realized something. Donnie’s separated from him. Which wasnever a good sign. Both can’t watch each other’s back.

He swished his Katana’s again,observing the Footbot’s eyes turn grey and collapsed. He was hurting, and asmuch as he wanted to fight, it was going on for too long.

He wanted to retreat until a gurglecry of “ahhh” and a thud and he knew it was too late to leave.Leo’s blue eyes hardened, that scream was from Donnie, and the sound of it, hewas hurt.

“Donnie?” Leo cried out, springingover a Footbot and took advantage of it. He both saw his brother and then leaptoff once more as another Bot came through and slashed his companion in half.

Leo ran across the rooftop, wearinessforgotten, and worry now settling in. He reached across dead bots, and as hepassed over them, he saw his brother on the ground.

“Donnie!” Leo rushed over, butbefore he can check on his wounded brother, he was shoved. Leo fell on theasphalt and his sword slid away from his grasp. He whirled to face ten Footbotsand went on his knees to grab his katana.

Donnie made none reply. He laid onhis back, head tilted up, mouth agape, and limp hand on abdomen, but offered nosigns of getting up.

“Donnie, come on, talk!”

He circled around Donnie, defendinghim away from the Footbots as they sprung forward. Weapons sticking out oftheir sides. Leo dodged and swung his Katana in fierce. His adrenaline pumped,allowing him more strength to fend off the Footbots and to check on his silentbrother.

Already, he’s taken out most. It wasbecoming like a rhythm. Swish, dodge, swish, pufffff. Swish, dodge, swish,pufffff.

 There was a few remaining. AndLeo turned repeatedly to gaze at his fallen brother. Whatever exhaustion he hadwas forgotten, when he saw his brother’s face entwined with pain.



He kicked, turning to slice theFootbot from behind, and blocked the sword in front of him.

“Donnie, come on! Please answer me,bro!” Leo yelled out, exasperated, sweat beaming down his forehead and finishedwhatever Footbots remained. Without hesitation, he dialed for Raph with shakyfingers, pleading for him and Mike to come to the West side of the city wherethey were.

Leo placed the phone on his belt andrushed for his brother. In a turmoil of mixed emotions, Leo collapsed on hisknees where his brother laid.

Donnie’s eyes were open, glazed withtears. Each breath was shallow, but he wasn’t responding.

“Come on, Donnie, speak!” Leo lookedover where Donnie had his hand on his abdomen, and saw the pooling of bloodthrough his fingers, Leo raised Donnie’s hand, and from the heavy amount ofblood, there was a sliced angular cut through his plastron.

“Le… hurts.” Donnie gasped out,blood mixed with saliva running down his chin and winced as a wave of pain camethrough.

Leo removed his blue mask, balled itup, and pressed on the wound. “I’ve got you. I won’t let anything happen toyou. Just stay with me, please…”

Dull, brown eyes were now halfclosed, but he nodded and that was all Leo needed. Leo’s hand, now with hisbrother’s blood, reached for Donnie’s hand. The limp hand slacked, but Leo gaveit a squeeze.
