Day 3 | Cardboard Chair
I spent day three of this project in my studio class block (which is three hours btw O-o) and I felt I was able to get a lot further into my actual concept models!
My first concept model was the one from my last post, and as I worked, I was dedicate to building off and improving off of each model I created until I was satisfied.
In order to do that, I created some sketches first of how I wanted to proceed.
This is what I got (also one of my sharpie pens broke :( ...) ->
To be honest, my second model was so bad, I didn't even try finishing it...
The block of cardboard was supposed to be its base but after analyzing how poorly structured this model was, I decided to use to towards the next concept.
The next concept was not that far off from the second design - I just realize I probably just had to simplified my design, leading to the protype for my final design.
Voila! The protype chair for my final concept design! + sketches

Expo 67 Thailand Pavilion Concept Model Circa 1963
Back of the postcard:
THAILAND PAVILION . . . A small golden palace, decorated in classic Thai tradition. Moored alongside the pavilion, will be a replica of the world famous Thai royal barge.
The original concept model of the Millennium Falcon looked completely different, it was long and cylindrical; very unlike the flat design that is now known. The model makers complained the design was too similar to the spacecraft from the 1970s British TV series Space: 1999, so George Lucas told them to create something new that looked like a flying hamburger and sailed like a sunfish.
In the end, however, a variation of the Millennium Falcon prototype did end up in the movie. It’s the Rebel Blockade Runner that is seen fleeing the Imperial Star Destroyer in the opening scene.
