I have been taught through various literature, songs, and movies that I will never truly be complete until someone else completes me. That I need to fall in love and be worth someone’s time and affection to know who I am. Well I am calling BULLSHIT! . I was taught that as a woman I need to flawlessly balance every aspect of life without batting an eyelash. Beauty, perfection, and grace must all be things I need to embody to be worthy of someone’s respect. I need to never step out of bounds, to smile and hold my tongue. Well I am saying F*** that. . Recently, through the practice of surrounding myself with positive daily newsletters and removing the negative influences, I am finally seeing clearly. I’ve decided that I actually complete myself, I am entirely whole. And while I still make mistakes and I’m still trying be a better person, I have a new outlook. . I now call mistakes, positive learning experiences. As long as I can grow from a negative decision, its actually a positive. So mistakes are instead quite wonderful. I am learning to own my flaws flawlessly, rather than trying to be flawless. I’m moving forward by owning who I am …. One positive learning experience at a time. .
