A week ago, commanderkurama answered an anonymous question about RWBY ships. That question was supposed to be a one off and for him only.
However, I decided to hop on board and also answer the question but in a state of excitement, ended up turning this into an “unofficial ask game.” Commander made a follow up post saying that he doesn’t want anymore of this being reblogged or answered. @commanderkurama Here you go, a recital of the things happening in the last arc of Bleach under the cut in case you need a more detailed picture of the things happening, starting with chapter 480.
In summary, Ishida had little to no impact on what has happened in the final arc as he stands on the side of the enemy for the longest part, isn’t shown in the majority of chapters, and does basically nothing whenever he appears (briefly). He planned to take down Wahrwelt himself (by scattering Destruction Chips and activating them) but he never did that in the end. His fight against Haschwalth buys Ichigo, Orihime, and Sado some extra time but it didn’t achieve the intended goal of the Squad killing Yhwach while he’s in his weakened state because he has already awakened. Ishida’s feelings for his friends are highlighted during a speech, which is nice and all, but it has no impact on anything other than on the reader’s opinion. The arrowhead that Ishida used to make Yhwach powerless for one (1) second during the final fight was made by Ishida’s dad. It’s nice that Ishida was included in the final fight, but Ishida shooting the arrow with the special arrowhead is, in itself, nothing special as any other Quincy could have done that just as well.
In conclusion, Ishida’s only really productive accomplishment is killing Haschwalth and shooting one arrow at Yhwach.
CHAPTER 480 Hollow attacks two unimportant Shinigamis
– Ichigo and friends (Ishida, too) rescue him
– They all meet up in Ichigo's room
– Ivan (Quincy) appears out of nowhere, Ichigo follows him outta the window
– They start fighting
At the same time in Soul Society: Quincy attack Shinigamis
Ichigo comes back from the fight with Ivan to his room (everybody just waited there lol)
The squad leaves and right after that, Nel appears and says that Hueco Mundo was attacked
Because of that, Ichigo asks the others to meet up in his room again (Ishida is there!)
CHAPTER 486 Ishida says that he cannot come along with the squad this time
– Squad leaves to Hueco Mundo w/o Ishida
– Fight ensues in Hueco Mundo and Soul Society
Later, Ichigo hears the calls of the Shinigamis fighting in SS and them being annihilated by the Quincy
He comes to SS and tries to hinder Yhwach from leaving (during this process, Zangetsu is broken)
After the attack of the Quincy in SS and HM, Ichigo meets Squad Zero and has to convince Nimaiya Oetsu (dude who makes all Zanpakuto) to repair Zangetsu
"Video chat" with Urahara, Chad, and Orihime (they wanted to see if Ichigo is alright)
Ichigo heads out to go to the Spirit Palace, where the Squad Zero is awaiting him
Renji is also there. They both get healed and train together in Spirit Palace
Ichigo fails to win against Asauchi
→ He’s sent back home, hears his story about his mother, and gathers new courage to face Yhwach
Ishida's mother's death is mentioned while Isshin explains Misaki's story but Ishida himself does not appear
CHAPTER 537 Ishida appears and he is shown to join Yhwach
Ichigo's Zangetsu is getting repaired (Ichigo receives The Real Zangetsu)
CHAPTER 543 Ishida appears again
– Yhwach calls Ishida his successor
– Why? Because Ishida is the only Gemischt Quincy (not-pure-blood Quincy) who survived the purge
– Ishida accepts to follow him Yhwach.

CHAPTER 584 Ishida waits with Yhwach and Haschwalth
– The three invade Soul King's Palace
– Ichigo sees that Ishida is with them and screams his name
– Ishida shoots Lightregen to hinder him and the others from coming after him, Yhwach and Haschwalth
CHAPTER 598 Orihime thinks back about the Squad in the SS Arc, Ishida’s presence back then is highlighted (She says: "I wonder if he'll come back to us")

Ichigo and the Squad arrive at that battlefield shortly after

CHAPTER 620 Ishida protects Yhwach and warn the Squad that he'll shoot them arrow if they move

– Ishida’s plan fails, though, because Yhwach wakes up and possesses all his power when the Squad is fighting him
CHAPTER 672 Ishida is seriously harmed
– Haschwalth aims another big attack at him
CHAPTER 674 Ishida is shown to have blocked the attack
CHAPTER 675 Ishida’s dad appears at some other place, Ishida talks to Haschwalth about the "unchangeable future"
– Haschwalth prepares to attack
CHAPTER 679 Ishida is shown to be very hurt
– He stands up and shows Haschwalth his Schrift (Schrift A)
– Schrift A means “Antithese”: He can reverse one thing that already happened
– Ishida is not injured anymore because he basically gave Haschwalth his injuries thanks to his Schrift
– BUT Haschwalth attack and injures him again
CHAPTER 680 Ishida gives a speech about his friends
– Haschwalth is trying to kill Ishida but he’s unable to do that because in the middle of that, Yhwach is sealing Haschwalth’s power
CHAPTER 681 Haschwalth tells Ishida that he will transfer his injuries to himself because he's dying anyway (He says something like “Go and save your friends”)
CHAPTER 683 Ishida meets his dad and Isshin
– His dad gives him an arrowhead which was made outta the silver that is formed in the heart of Gemischt Quincy because of the purge (Ishida realizes that the silver is from his mother’s heart)
CHAPTER 684 Ishida shoots arrow at Yhwach while Yhwach and Ichigo are in the middle of fighting
– The special arrowhead makes Yhwach lose his power for one (1) second
– Ichigo is able to kill Yhwach during that second
