Hey all, howās it going?
So this weeks polls comes from a special place in my heart. The firstĀ ārealā set I started playing Magic in, Lorwyn. Because Lorwyn/ Shadowmoor are one block and have so many creatures to choose from, this will be split up in about 3 parts. So these will be the next few polls.
Anyway, hereās the poll.
Polls will close on Sunday 10/8 @ 5pmĀ E.S.T and the deck will be posted on Tuesday 10/17
Below you can get a quick glimpse for who youāre voting for,
Deck Price: $90
Like Chandra, Ashling is a firecracker. We have an early drop Commander who can wipe most boards for 6 mana. Or we can be aggressive with her and pump her to the point of lethal Damage.Ā Ā
Deck Price: $80
A Combat trick general in white. Brigid allows us to have an ebb-and-flow of the combat phase. Weāre especially good against token decks too.
Deck Price: $110
This is where we take the mountain and toss it somewhere else. Weāll have big creatures, small creatures, and goats! All to throw at our opponent.
Deck Price: $150
We all like the large bodies and cannot lie. All my Treefolk brethren cannot lie. We have a fun ability where we can make the biggest, toughest dude, hit like a kitten. On the other side we can take the biggest tree and make them hit with the force of all gravity.
Deck Price: $120
Do you not have any friends? Are you lonely, and want to play Magic with a group of people? Do you find yourself to be a Super Villain? Welcome to non-conventional control magic. This is one of the most competitive decks weāll see and with a budget one can slowly invest in.Ā
āCommander isnāt about making friends. Itās about sending a messageāĀ Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā - Probably Gaddock Teeg
Deck Price: $200
Woo 5 colors. We are going to be a heavy tribal deck here. With over 20 years of elemental creatures in magic. We have some pretty cool things to play!
Deck Price: $140
Do you like playing only good cards? Do you want to make it so you can lock people out of drawing said cards? Do you want to make it so no one can every hurt your Commander? Welcome to the Mornsong. Like Gaddock, this isnāt a deck to make friends with. Weāre going competitive, and weāre going to hit them fast and hard. Yay! for unconventional control!
As always, thanks for reading and voting.Ā
Until next time.

You took a Blood Oath! Commander Challenge: CM17 Vampires, Licia.
Better late than never, right?Ā
Hereās our Bad-ass General, Licia. With a $100 budget, weāll have to see if our Blood Oath can do some things.
If you just want to look at the deck. Well, you can see it here.
Well, we must also discuss something. The deck is actually $100-$101, due to a card not having a price in TCG player. Thatās Bruse Tarl, who ranges from $4-$5. So we did kind of fail.
Life Gain
Well one of the things that make Licia interesting, is the fact that she can relatively cost us 3 mana. Thatās due to her firs effect. So we gain life, she costs less. It gets around the Commander Tax. So thatās neat. We have quite a number of cards that gain life. About 20 to be exact, or well make things have Life-gain.Ā
One of the better life gain cards in the deck. This allows us to survive devastating blow, if we have to be defensive.Ā
Listen, we are a 3 colorĀ ālife-gain deckā. Sovereign can just out right win the game. Thereās no reason not to play this and if it can help us.
Simply put, double life gain is amazing...add double-strike, get Licia out no matter what?
Singular Removal
So we c an win through General damage. Sometime thereās only one pesky blocker. We have a total of 8 them.
Gets through that pesky indestructible creatures.
AĀ āVindicateā on a stick. This is a sort ofĀ āsorcery speedā, at only our turn, but we can indeed use this as a combat trick. Oh, weāll have a ton of life to do this.
Want to Win with Commander Challenge
So we have a few ways of winning, but hey. Our Commander has the ability to win one handed. Oh, and another way.
Like True Conviction, this gets us to the end zone with a pumped up Licia.Ā
This just out right wins us the game against someone. Paired up with the above mentioned, we have a 5/4 Licia with double strike. Sometimes an opponent will let it through, because 10 Commander damage wonāt out-right kill them. Thatās where this comes in handy. Itās a one-shot that many people wouldnāt expect.
What to add for a larger budget?
While a late game card, and in certain groups, fair too late to play. This is another Faith Mender. Yup, they stack. This is really for a slower version of the deck.
Actually on curve with Licia (If we canāt get her to be cheaper). Weāre an aggressive deck. This is a perfect addition to it. Also letās that Infect strategy work because it gives trample. Itās also $20, so please invest in cards like these.
I mean, give us indestructible. Also she on her own is aggressive enough to win in this deck. Sheās also $30. Invest in her if you want her.
In Conclusion
Licia is a great aggressive Commander, who has a fun way of getting around Commander tax. If the budget were much larger, Iād go the route of making this a Voltron like deck. Having the wacky life-gain aspect makes for a slower, yet aggressive strategy. Overall if youāre looking for a Commander who makes you swear a blood oath. Pick up Licia in the new Commander 2017 product.
As always, thanks for reading.
Until next time.

So this poll can be defined asĀ āAnyoneās gameā, while there was a constant at the top, almost everyone else was catching up. Though there always has to be a winner.
Well....thatās a tie. Ok so itās essentially a blind coin toss.
Congrats to the winner! Let us see what a $140 budget can do for us. Since Iām posting all the old decks that were owed this week. A new poll will be up some time tomorrow.
See this deck on October 16th!
Happy games all.
Until next time.

CommanderChallenge Winner: The Mad Maze Runner, Melek.
Good evening all, and welcome to CommanderChallenge. A weekly article, that explains the winning deck of the previous weeks CommanderChallenge Poll.
This weeks article is brought to you by the letter E....
Hereās our Commander, Melek.
Melek, how are you?
Melek:....D-Deck
There you have it folks. Truly, an amazing Maze Runner at their finest!
As you know, the Izzet are always tinkering and toiling away in their labs. To achieve such intellect, one must take risks! This entire deck is just that.Though before we go on, this deck has an infinite combo. So if you are faint of heart, you may not want to click below.
This deck, and itās play style go between a highly calculated plan, to lunacy.
Letās talk about some weird science!
Our general isnāt all that important. Yes, we can utilize their ability, but unless weāre just having fun, we donāt really need to cast him. He can cause a card to get copied, but we have other means for that as well.Ā
The Weird parts:Ā
Like many other Chaos decks, we have a package.
Is our back bone of all Chaos decks, along with Knowledge Pool, Thieveās Auction, and Scrambleverse. Make for a a long, but exciting game. Before ever casting any other card. We should always cast Knowledge pool, unless we can optimally cast Warp World. OH OH OH! Make sure you can cast a spell right after Knowledge pool, so you get advantage! Our goal is to have a gained experience. How education should be.
Ah, wait, thatās Chaos-lite. You want true madness.Ā
Along with Eye of the Storm, we start our storm counter. Iāll explain later.
Of course with Chaos, we have to not only affect the field, but the future too.
As well as Wheel of Fate, can disrupt everyone at the table, or help them. You know what, thatās ok too. Fun fact, Iād put winds of Change in this deck, but TCG player thinks itās more than $5, so itās not in.Ā
As for other weirdĀ cards. We have a Traumatize, and Ignite Memories.in the build. Theyāre in in hopes to get them off of a Possibility Storm. Now, to my understanding, you still casted a card even when Possibility Storm exiles it. Which lets you take some extra cards out with Ignite. At the worst we just see what a card is in someones hand, at the best, we hit something big, or their whole hand. With Traumatize, itās sometimes meant to just make someone shuffle. Why? Because people use Senseiās Diving Top, other search cards. Make them mill, and if they hit a Titan or something, well, they lost that search and top. Agasin, we can possibly get this off with a Preordain. Also, our Storms allow for us to mess with our opponent.Ā
Now for the Science.Ā
We have some combos in it. One in particular that uses thatĀ āstormā, andĀ āChaos Methodā
Again, we are assuming that Possibility storm counts as us still casting the first spell. This gets out of hand fast, regardless. Many of our spells are under 4 mana. So late game we can spam cards, and gain a ton of life.Ā
Now if Iām wrong about storm, thereās another part to the deck that allows us to win.
Now you might be goingĀ āThatās stupidā. Yeah, you arenāt wrong. Essentially what weāre doing is causing a form of infinite mana, and recasting the Kobolds (Among other 0-1 drops) and gaining a ton of life. The number weāre going to give is 150 (So thatās three players). Assuming we have at least 10 or more life, we go to 160 life, then BLAM! We use our lazer to get rid of our enemies!
Now this combo is so dumb, that if it happens. Something went wrong. Also, as long as we have cheap spells with knowledge pool out, we Ā can use this to gain more life. Possibility Storm does the opposite, so try not casting that if you have the means to cast the combo. OR, use this.
Or hope to cast it, to bounce back the Storm. Oh, and if we dont have crystal shard out, we can bounce back our cheap creatures to then gain more life and cause Paradox Engine to go off.Ā
How to play with fire?
Now, optimally we want a starting hand of three land, an mana rock and Ā a creature like FateSpinner, or Etherium-horn Sorcerer. Dropping Fate Spinner early game can cause control decks to linger longer, stop aggro decks, and make other people upset. Ā Honestly if we can cast our mana reducing creatures early, do it. Some things to note, we lack stable draw. To make this fair, we have tutors, and other such cards. So early on weāre building up. If we can cast an early Swarm Intelligence, and/ or our general, do it. Now yes, I said our general wasnāt important, and he really isnāt. What we do want is to cause mischief. If they resolve, cards like Traumatize, or even Mindās Desire do more work.
Once we start building up the combo, we have to go all in. If you canāt cast Paradox engine early, then drop our storm cards. Because guess what, we can make it without doing a single thing. Meanwhile our opponents are scrambling around to maintain board state. Remember, our comboās arenāt end all for us.
Improving on the Scientific Method.Ā
Some cards you might want to add are up to you. I personally would swap out some of the bounce spells for cards like Jaceās Ingenuity, among other good draw spells. We could use some Burn, but with Chaos decks they arenāt that great. Maybe a Grapeshot? As for creatures, weāre pretty solid. Yeah, there are more tutors that can help us search for the combo, but we donāt want to be too consistent. Weāre chaos, so whatever you want in the deck, can go in the deck (Well, barring rules and all that)
Well Melek, any last words for our viewers?
Melek: S-science is weird.
Yes Melek, yes it is.
As always I hope you liked the deck and the article. If you did, hit the like or reblog it and make your play group worry. If you have any comments, questions, or concerns, post them below and let me know.
Thanks again
Until Next time,Ā
Gryffnwing~
Also this week be on the look out for the other Bolasā Buddies decks; Gwafa and The Scorpion God.
This weeks poll is up, and itās cats!
Tagging @tibalt-the-fineblooded, who wanted to see the deck.
There is no poll this week, nor deck to build.Ā
So a while ago I thought about doing the #CommanderChallenge every other week. Well, I didnāt like that idea. I also was supposed to work on my version of a Commander Primer. Since I work, and stream, and do the Challenge. I just donāt have the time.
So how things will go from now on (or until I get bored and change it again).
3 weeks out of the month, I will be doing three polls each week, following up with a winner at the end of it, and a deck will be posted for it the following week (tentative date). The last week of each month there wonāt be a poll, or a deck. Instead there will be a brief period of non challenge activity. This will be filled with random cards for Commander, and more importantly, a part of the Primer.
This week does not mark the beginning of this. I just need time to catch up. Licia is delayed because a certain site hasnāt updated their database with like five cards! Iām hopign to have her finished this week, and next week the Wizard deck will be done as well. By then a new poll will be posted (hopefully) for Ixalan.Ā
Next, I will be using other platforms for the Challenge as well. Thatās another post for another time as well. So stay tuned for that.
Anyway, thanks all for understanding. Licia has been great to theory craft thus far, and Ixalan has only helped.
Again, thanks all.

So Iām a tad bit curious about the Commander 2017 decks.
Since each deck has four main generals. Do you guys want to vote on them? Or should I build a deck for each of the mains? Essentially youād be voting on the budget for each of the generals, and not the general themselves.Ā
I feel like making people choose between the iconic 3/4 is a tad bit harder. Since everyone wants to see what each can do.
I mean this is probably a moot point since I already condemned the Dragon deck. Also it would take me much longer to get each deck out. Since Iām behind on the Bolas Buddies.
What would you all like to see? The next poll would be cats.

CommanderChallenge: Bolas and his Buddies winner! Please read the entire thing for clarification!
Hey all, gonna have the results up on time!
āHe had to set an alarm!ā
Hush.
So the Locust God won this time. Meanwhile we had a three way tie for second. Since this is a Democratic process....Bolas wins
Thatās right, Bolas wins this.Ā
It matters not that The Locust God had more votes. Votes mean nothing to the God-Pharaoh! So You will get a Nicol Bolas Commander deck!
āB-but thatās not fair!ā
Neither is the electoral college.
āYouāll lose followers and support because of this!ā
Huh, fair point. Ok, so youāll get four decks then.
āWait, what?ā
Thatās right. Over the course of four weeks, you will be getting not only The Locust God, but Nicol Bolas himself, oh and The Scorpion God, and Gwafa Hazid.
How will this work?
Ok, so the schedule will go like this.
This week Unesh will be released (Expect it on Tuesday, because Monday Iām working later than I expected)
āLazy jerk-faceā
Yup. Ok so Schedule.
This week Unesh is unveiled, and new poll (7/23-7/30 poll).
Next week The Locust God is unveiled. We also announce who won this weeks polls (7/23- 7/30), also new poll.
Each deck for this poll will be titled like this, to separateĀ itself from the other challenges.
Deck Profile: Bolasā Buddy________
Actual schedule
7/23 New poll is put up.
7/25 Unesh deck profile
7/30 The Locust God should be up + new poll.
8/6 New Poll will be up, and the 7/23 poll winner + Nicol bolas Deck Profiles will be up.
8/13 New poll will be up, the winner of the 7/30 poll and The Scorpion God deck profiles will be up.
8/20 New poll. Winner of the 8/6 and Gwafa Hazid deck profiles will be up.
So over the course of the next month or so, youāll be getting a total of 7 deck profiles, or 6. Iām not counting right now.
As always, thank you all for voting and participating. Thank you for your love and kidness.
Message me if you want to see someone in the next CommanderChallenge.
Thanks for reading.
Until the next poll/ article/ stream.
A little bitty about Commander Challenge poll: Bolas and his buddies.
