I had casually mentioned to a work colleague that I thought about delving into reading graphic novels, webcomics, etc. He recommended checking out Comics Plus! A lot of libraries have subscriptions so that their patrons (young and old) can access digital comics, graphic novels, etc.

A relatively new and super cool resource available to Henry County GA patrons is Comics Plus Library Edition.

Reading comics and manga can quickly become an expensive hobby, and intimidating too. Who wants to purchase a whole series if you only plan to read it once? Maybe you just want to sample something before saving up and buying your own. Maybe a stack of comics is your perfect beach read, but you don’t want to risk getting sand on those first editions!

Comics Plus is a digital comic resource offered through the library. Comics Plus gives fans of comics and manga a great way to explore a huge variety of titles, publishers, and genres. Whether you read kid-friendly titles like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Steven Universe, or Bone, or you’re a teen reader diving into Naruto and Lumberjanes, or for adult readers there are even titles like 28 Days Later. The variety of titles to choose from is truly impressive from mini biography comics of reality TV stars to the story of Exodus to classic Peanuts to Star Trek to Archie and much more.

Like other digital books patrons can check out from the libraries, these books turn themselves back in when they’re due, so no worries about late fees. Just read and enjoy!

A side note to manga readers in particular: some titles are not scanned in the traditional right to left format, so check the format of titles as you proceed to read (hopefully this will be standardized soon).
