Cooler weather means less yard work.

Less sweat, more breath.

I’ve got an old gas mower—temperamental, but loyal.

I know its sounds. I know its silences.

I can rebuild it blindfolded.

But I’m ready to retire it.

Battery-powered is calling.

My yard’s not big, not small.

Manual reed mower? Got one.

But I want ease. I want flow.

Inside, the real upgrades begin.

My PC runs Windows 11 Pro.

No Mac temptations here.

It’s a prestige machine, but I want more.

More RAM. More SSD.

Because “enough” is a myth when you’re a gamer-writer-archivist hybrid.

Now, the iPad.

Oh, the iPad.

My first one was 2010.

Still works. Still whispers history.

It was never meant to replace my laptop.

Just a companion.

But Apple’s been quietly reshaping it.

And I noticed.

The shift.

From leisure to productivity.

From “just for fun” to “this is my workflow.”

I write on it.

Draft to publish.

No ink-stained fingers.

No paper mountains.

Just glass. And words. And awe.

I’m a writer by default.

Not for survival.

For joy.

For the rhythm of tapping glass and watching stories bloom.

I’ve lived the typewriter era.

I still use apps that mimic the clack.

Bluetooth keyboards? I have them.

But I’m not chasing trends.

I’m chasing comfort.

Gaming?

Mostly nostalgia now.

My peak passed, but the joy remains.

My PC is still a marvel.

But the couch, the iPad, the quiet blog post—

That’s my sanctuary.

Final thought:

Typing on glass might feel like a chore to some.

To me, it’s a miracle.

A ritual.
