turn it off, use something like windex (aka any generic glass cleaner) for the exterior with a softer rag. microfiber preferred, but any will do. anything where the electronics are "accessible" (your keyboard, for example) use rubbing alcohol. it dries fast, and is non-conductive, meaning it won't damage anything on the inside. any extra grime, you can get with a cheap toothbrush and either of the above cleaners! you dont have to open your laptop to get it clean unless you want to clear out the dust and lint caked up, which is only worth it if your laptop gets really hot. you should be fine since you have a macbook
Wait oh my god thank you hello????
