Oh god. Arae is hyper paranoid about his appearance. He has vitiligo, leaving most of his face, hands and feet pale, while the rest of him is splotched in white. It leaves him scared and nervous that people are going to think this means he’s sick or tainted somehow so he is constantly covered from head to foot. This means high boots, long sleeves and long robes.

Van, on the otherhand, is hella proud of his body, despite the shit he’s been through. In the scars and tattoos he’s gained over the years, he considers each nick of missing skin is a story to be told or a lesson learned. His missing eye isn’t even something he bothers to cover, making fun of it himself more often than not. He keeps himself in excellent condition, taking time everyday to run, ride, lift weights, or the occasional yoga.

Arae believes heavily in an afterlife. He believes those he’s lost, his sisters, cousins, etc, will find a place in paradise by the Warden’s side upon their deaths.

Van wants to believe. It’s a comfort to think of, that Jeyse is somewhere happy now and taken care of and waiting for him someday, but with so much evil in the world, it’s hard to maintain such belief.

what a loaded question

the characters are GREAT but the writing is a 100% hit or miss

i could write a book on various aspects of the show because it has no… really clear roadmarkers as to what is serious, what is a reference, what is a tie in to a plot point from 3 seasons ago, or if they are just randomly throwing shit at a wall and seeing what sticks

So like

 i dont know man. it’s an investment. Like, whenever I recommend it to people I say “suspend all judgement till you’re done with the third season” because that makes slogging through the campy early seasons worth it.

PROS: 

-AMAAAAAZING fandom. So much art. Is your ass cool with slash shipping? Because most of the more active fans are sterek shippers and they produce SO. Much. Content. If you rank ao3 fics by kudos, 3/5 of the top 5 fics are sterek fics. This fandom is Serious about their shit. 

-Dylan O’Brien is so fucking talented and this is the first thing he acted in and you can see him do so much with a very multifaceted character

-Tyler Hoechlin’s portrayal  of derek is heartbreaking

-fandom has HEADSPINNING meta and a lot of it holds water

-werewoos

-SEASON 3B IS SO GOOD BUT YA GOTTA WATCH EVERYTHING BEFORE IT TO REALLY GET THE FULL EFFECT OF IT KICKING YOU IN THE BALLS

3.  Eldin smiling at her.  She’s in a bad place most of the time and it’s reassuring to see he cares.

4.  Sweets. Usually pastries.  She has a major sweet tooth.
