Come to think of it, why *did* Litriya Shrine have equipment to repair constructs? Shouldn't this kind of thing be present in a pymary workshop or something of the sort?
Since they already had the space and the infrastructure for construct storage and repair, it became an ideal place for a secret royal ogre project, shrine on top be damned.
Valentin is for sure a freak because you know he has whatever fuck off amount of money is necessary to make the most luxurious state of the art pymaric portable La-Z-Boy chair and instead he chooses to sit on something that can fart
Even the most luxurious portable armchair can't massage your feet for you or fetch you a bottle of beer or sing your favourite arias, Anon 9_9
Man, I'm really glad to have these kickstarters. I've always wanted to have the physical books, but way back when, I always missed when they came out + wasn't really in a good place to pay. Please take my fistfuls of money and give me your books now, ma'am. I NEED to see the Kissfist Baxter story, I will find it.
It's in volume 3! :D Kissfist Baxter was quite an interesting duelist. Little-known though he is, a number of conspiracy theories have grown up around him since he vanished so suddenly. One of the most popular ideas is he was a Soud son from the wealthy Grettaerin granary families who'd run away from an unwanted marriage and future. That young man vanished from the countryside one summer right around the time of the great Harehaenun v. Kissfist brawl, and had been rumoured to be a fine - if unorthodox - wright.
Others say Baxter was actually a glamoured Crescian Aseptick, an agent of the Queen come to expose Durlyne's harmful labour practises and then return with fodder for fresh anti-Aldish propaganda back home.
No one can say for sure though...
Congratulations on the Kickstarter meeting the goal so quickly! ❤️
Thank you, man! I'm so grateful to readers ;_; I was so certain interest had waned since the original story ended, and no one would care about having the rest of the books.

Are Valentin’s little chair goblins using pymary to enhance their furniture skills, or is it entirely training and eugenics that have made them able to do this? Also how long can they hold that pose?
The nibspuh, as he calls them, have been bred with thick bones, dense musculature, stunted intellects, and locking joints. They have Aspect batteries with them in case meetings run long, but they can hold him up for hours without complaint.
Were First Sette and Jac a part of the Sororal Sect, or was it not a thing at this point in time?
Their cult was deeply Sororal, with an emphasis on Tirna and an extremely regional Victori albino lioness that no one remembers anymore.
Why would someone from a Sororal Gefendur sect turn to Fraternal Gefendurism? I can definitely see men wanting a religion that affirms sexism and patriarchy more, but are there other reasons?
The Fraternal sect originated when one of the old Aldish kings wanted to split with the Ulestry-controlled Gefendur church, finding it distastefully aligned with his rising nemesis Cresce. Into this new take on the faith, the king put his own ideals: the worship of power, the elevation of government hierarchy and authority, the rights of men over women, the careful celebration of greed.
"Gefendur means givers" to the original Gefendur, but that's not the case to the Fraternal. Every man has a right to take and to keep what he likes, provided he respect his place within the lawfully structured hierarchy. If you fail within this system? You're being punished for failures in a past life, and shouldn't complain. To succeed is a blessing from the gods, and to fail and fall into illness or poverty is likewise a sign that they're putting you in your place.
So if this all sounds like virtue to you, you'd probably enjoy worship of the Fraternal twins, and the rat race of Alderode :)
Why is silver in particular so important? In universe you have the powerful and dangerous First Silver material and the Silver Wood, but does the color or metal have some special significance to the Makers to be such a big deal? Color wise, Sette and Duane seem associated with green and gold so maybe silver, plus the red and black, denotes an opposite?
First Silver is the most capacious extant First Material. That means it can hold more Aspects and spellwork than any other FM, essentially making it the most powerful. Why is this the case? No reason; it's a brute fact of the physical science of Kasslyne.
But it's been speculated to be connected to the Silver Wood. The Silver Wood purportedly girds the khert, separating it from the Outside, where the gods (or Ssael) reside. First Silver comes from the bone marrow of the agib, or the senet birds. Were the birds born of the Silver Wood? Or was it born from them?
No one really knows, but Kasslynians have been telling stories about it all to each other since the beginning, trying to sort it out.
i mean, if i were seven feet tall i'd have a hard time finding comfortable seating too. must be useful bringing ur own bespoke chair-critters with u everywhere!
They're versatile too. They can do a smaller chair and small table if there is food served, if there's no starter chair for height they can also stack themselves four Plats high for a taller, if narrower perch. With sublime balance, bone density, and compact strength, they are prepared to comfortably accommodate master's derriere in nearly any situation.

Is Lemuel unusual as a paladin? In that he first served in the Council Army and then managed to join the Lions of Mercy at a relatively young age?
Unusual, definitely. But Duane moreso. Paladins typically come from better families, even among the Soud. The kit and the tutelage is expensive, and it's prestigious to have a son in the Lions.
It's less unusual that Lemuel made it in when he already had an accomplished brother to advocate for him. Duane's the truly unusual one, promoted almost entirely based on achievements. Nearly makes you believe there's a meritocracy in place (but you shouldn't really, lol).
The pink headed guys seem to be actively worshiping him. Would people see this at all in conflict with the faith, or would they think this makes sense for a copper of his standing who is presumably very close to his last life?
They don't worship him any more or less than a good Aldish woman worships her husband. They're all obedient servants to the masters of the world.
I know you said we'd maybe find out more about our little mushroom headed friends later, but I kinda hope that there's nothing much else but THIS. They just exist for no other purpose than to make sure Valentin always has somewhere to sit without risking looking ungainly or being uncomfortable. Their entire purpose is furniture. Why do they have flower heads? Why do some chairs have fancy embroidered legs! Aesthetic.
Some people acquire such largess that the surrounding humans lose their humanity to them, becoming props, tools, basically furniture on the stage of their life. These people broke the social contract, left the species, and their wealth shields them from all consequences.
No one's coming to save their poor props either.
When it comes to Duane, does Jivi dislike him because of his role in Aldish society, so it's much harder to dismiss him as just another cog in Alderode's machine? A while back you said that the former doesn't exactly hate Crescians; rather, he hates Cresce, so it'd be fun to know whether or not Jivi has a similar dilemma when it comes to Alds, especially now that he has a reasonable profile of Adelier, both by hearing the assassination story from Sette and the Foi-Hellick one from the Twins.
Jivi dislikes Duane 'cause Duane has repeatedly been an asshole. From smacktalking everything Crescian to literally assaulting Sara and Mistress Lori and then assisting invading soldiers in their effort to rape and kill an entire building of children, Duane's been a villain. Jivi's dislike of him is entirely justified, reasonable, and in fact reflects well on Jivi :)
It's Matty and Quigley that have softened Jivi's opinion on the Aldish broadly, but he still has a very wise and rational dislike of the country to the north. He's helping rescue Duane now because he realises they need Duane themselves to escape the city, and because Sette really seems to love the jerk.

Okay I gotta know, what are those pink things that Valentin’s little guys are wearing? Also on a scale of 1 to 10 how excited are they to be serving as his chair?
They LOVE this, this is why they EXIST. They dream about it at night, and it's the first thing they think about when they wake up. There's nothing else in the world for them but serving Master Valentin. Nothing else is as exciting, as pleasurable, as fulfilling, as necessary.
The first thing? No one knows. They look like flowers kinda, no?
Unsounded volumes finally came in! And now everyone is waiting for book 3.
