Catching the winter sunshine are the branches and seedcases of Colutea persica (bladder senna). This deciduous shrub from Southern Iran has delicate pinnate leaves and small pea-like yellow or deep orange flowers followed by translucent, inflated fruits.

Colutea arborescens, sown October 2019 and germinated not long after. Growth then stopped for a few months but longer days and warmer greenhouse temperatures have caused leaf production to resume. February 2020.
