YES YES and YES. Being a fan of the Hunger Games and quite a Potterhead myself, it really is just like our books. Fill children’s heads with all of these horrors and then as soon as they are old enough to speak about it shut them down! WTF! My whole life I was told “you can be whatever you want” and “Stick up for yourself” and “Don’t let anyone tell you who to be”. The schools also pressured me and many other into thinking we HAVE TO go to a big 4 year university to be successful and unless we get a degree we’ll end up homeless or something. Well guess what! I was homeless before I graduated high school! I went to university for 1 year and I am almost $11,000 in debt. I felt so unprepared and stupid because I was somewhere not on my level. I could’ve gone to my local community college and not gone into debt that early in the game. I got so depressed my one friend reported me to student services because she thought I was going to kill myself. How bad does it sound that I am lucky to have literally made it out of my freshman year alive? Now because MILITARY grade weapons are available to CIVILIANS we have all of these elementary and high school kids who made it but their best friend didn’t. Their brother or sister didn’t. Their teacher didn’t. My mom is a teacher at a huge high school and I am scared for her to go to work everyday. I work as a sales associate at a mall and my mom is scared for me to go to work. If the current government can’t get a hold on this, then the future government will have to before they even get elected. As stated: “Get them, children. Leave no one standing.”
