Recanati (Marche). Cloister of the ancient convent of Santo Stefano. Located in the back of Palazzo Leopardi, it separates this from Mount Tabor (or the hill of the Infinity). Recanati (Marche). Colle dell’Infinito (Hill of the Infinite)(Mount Tabor). From it dominates a vast panorama, inspiring the homonymous poetry composed by Leopardi at 21 years. Currently Mount Tabor is a park attached to the Leopardian Studies Center and Palazzo Leopardi, the poet's birthplace. The hill, celebrated in the idyll, was a destination for Giacomo's walks, which could be accessed directly from the garden of the house, passing through the kitchen garden of the Santo Stefano convent, where he used to linger to enjoy the splendid panorama. Shortly before the access to the avenue is visible the 'Leopardian Sacello', reproduction of the one already existing in the church of San Vitale in Naples, where Leopardi is buried, now in the Virgilian park. A little further on is the monument placed by professors and students from the National Center for Leopardi Studies in the first centenary of their birth (1898).
