Station 4 - Manipulate
Collection=Interpretation Project Reflection
I want to begin by saying that the communication aspect of this project was at a decent level, even when I wasn’t on campus due to my illness. My group managed to compromise when disagreements arose and to offer better solutions when our expectations were not met.
While working on this project, I noticed that it became easier for me to be less stubborn when it comes to group projects and to listen to others' ideas because they matter to them as much as my ideas matter to me.
I also tried to talk more and explain almost all my ideas instead of sitting and listening to others. I think this was because during my previous group project I realised that I needed to do my part of the work before meeting the group, as this would give me a solid understanding of how I view the process/end result of the project. This is exactly what I did this time, which made the meeting with the group less frustrating for me.
Overall, I enjoyed working with people who cared about this project and wanted to achieve a successful end result.

I continued to experiment with the layout and look of our poster after the pin-up critique.
I tried different variations of the letter L, and it seemed to me that the 'litres' at the end of the numbers worked best.
I also divided the text into paragraphs, but this didn't look professional enough, so I tried to solve this problem by reducing the amount of text and dividing it into 3 paragraphs.

Feedback:
- Too much text, no one will read it. Keep it simple by reducing the amount of text and dividing it into bullet points.
- It's not very clear what the numbers mean, so adding "L", "Ltr" or "Litres" at the end of the numbers can help.
- Make the water level steeper by lowering it on the left-hand poster.
- Try to think of symbols for washing that could be associated with the water consumption.
Apart from that, we were told that our design looks very professional and communicates the data collected in a coherent way.
Collection=Interpretation Printed Posters
Here is a series of tile printed posters. When we printed them out, we saw several differences. Some of the text sizes were bigger than on the other posters, some sentences started with a capital letter and others did not. All of these things we wanted to change after the tutorial, as we thought that there would be extra things that needed to be fixed.
Collection=Interpretation Posters
Here is the process of creating my poster. We made our images black and white so that the viewer would not be distracted by them and so that the colour of the water would stand out more. Then we added two big numbers: the amount of water wasted per item and the amount of water used, according to our data. One member of the group made a test poster before our meeting, it had the time and address written in the corner and we liked the way it looked, so we kept that element.
When there was nothing else to add to our posters, we looked at them again and realised something was wrong or missing. I suggested adding a message to the posters as without it it was not clear what we wanted to say. So we decided to choose a word for each poster and write a short supporting paragraph to make our posters look more coherent and consistent.
