reposting this from my art insta!!
these two are from a series of work for my printmaking studio class; we were asked to make a body of work around the theme of sleep. When we first got this assignment, two of my main ideas were the dreams I used to have as a kid and the sleeping pills I occasionally take now. These two contrasting experiences served as the basis for these bunnies. I thrifted them last weekend and transformed them into these representations of adulthood vs childhood.
The buttons were mostly my grandmothers, I hand sewed each of them on. I also used an old pillowcase for the floral panel on the right bunnies torso. The left bunny was mostly printed with a collagraph plate i made with an empty pack of sleeping pills. I'll try to post more from this series, but I felt these two deserved their own post!! They were truly a labor of love.
