JAN 02, 2019 / happy new year everyone!! i hope everyone is having a relaxing holiday, whether around loved ones or enjoying your own solitude. i’m increasingly aware that my lil group of friends know me so well, as they’ve gifted me wonderful things this year; it is always nice to know certain items remind people of you. i haven’t made any concrete resolutions this year, just reflecting on how much i’ve grown and appreciative/grateful for it. :~)
hello guys and Happy March!! so today I decided to write about something different and I have been meaning to doing this since a month ago **1000/97 procrastination level**
lots of time I don’t feel like studying or doing anything else and later when I have some food, I realise that it was hunger that was causing that feeling of procrastination. therefore, food plays an essential role in keeping us mentally straight as well. this post consists of two main parts- the first one will be about eating healthy and the second will be about staying fit.
1. try to have a heavy breakfast before you leave for your work as it goes without saying that breakfast is the important meal of the day! try to have two parts of breakfast, which includes the breakfast and a brunch. I leave for school at about 6:55 and before leaving I have oatmeal or just tea and the brunch (which I have at school) I just have anything that my mom packs which includes a variety of foods starting from noodles to a ‘nut salad’ thingy
2. for some reason, if you skip lunch or dinner or both, and if you have something else instead and in a later time, that’s completely okay according to recent research, if you’ve had a heavy breakfast and brunch
3. avoid eating too much biscuits, cakes or anything other food containing was too much saturated fat because that’s kind of hard to get rid of from the body because its sticky in nature. check the nutritional information at the back of the packaging before purchasing. but remember, a little doesn’t hurt, you don’t have to be too hard on yourself considering you need energy to keep you going
4. have at least one fresh fruit or bulky salad every day to replenish you mineral and roughage levels in your body
5. stay hydrated of course and carry a bottle of water with you. during summer, I always keep a 1.5 L bottle and a 500mL glucose or lemonade water bottle with me. a good way to know if you are dehydrated is if you are finding it difficult to move your tongue while talking which is obvious. other than that, you can also set up a timer to remind you of having water timely
6. replace caffeine with tea. tea is healthier than coffee because it contains less amounts of caffeine than coffee, it also stunts your growth and if taken in higher quantities like 5-6 glasses per day or more, chances are you will be raising the chances for hepatitis. of course, again, little quantities do not hurt (I am talking about the times when you’ll have to put on an all-nighter)
7. have any sort of herbal tea which includes a variety of them staring from green, white, red, black to hibiscus or dandelion tea. trust me, there are so many that I am often shocked to hear their names (like what happened on hearing the name of dandelion tea. I know I am a cow.
8. drink a glass of water to rehydrate your body after 7-8 hours of sleep because you had been dehydrated during that time.
9. listen to music. this keep you mentally healthy, you all know it. I especially like to listen to lo-fi music when I am working because of its ambience
I am not a fitness professional, but I have been working out for 3 years now and I have gained some experience from that journey (which is still going on). so, a little advice won’t hurt, I guess
1. as you are a busy student, you have the excuse of working out at any time of the day when you are free. for example, I wake up by 5:30 or 6 am every day because I leave for school at about 6:55. I work out just then which is somewhere between 6:15 to 6:30. but when I am not in the mood or have not got the time, I just do it at any time I am free which even includes 23:00
2. I prefer doing yoga over working out. I don’t know but working out has hardly worked out for me, so I switched to yoga because it has a lot of benefits other than getting fit, like stabilizing your mental unstableness, helping you to focus, fight depression or insomnia (if you have any). but that doesn’t imply that I am promoting yoga. you will have to try between a variety of workouts and yoga and see for yourself what works the best for you
3. drink green tea, preferably with ginger before working out. it helps you to stay energized and boosts up your metabolism and helps you lose fat faster (if that’s what you are aiming at)
4. do not go on a diet. it will only drain out your energy. you will also raise your chances of being anorexic which is more life-threatening than it sounds.
5. do not work out for too long as it will result in muscular cramps. this advice is for the beginners but if you have been doing this for a long time, it’s better if your workout for small time lapses instead of working out straight for a long time. for example, if you are aiming at working out for 30 mins, break it up into two 15 minutes time lapse, out of which, one will be in the morning and the other at evening (or basically at any time you want, as aforesaid). or you can break it up into three 10 minutes lapse. the choice it completely yours and you can adjust it in accordance to your free time
I hope this (shit) post kind of helps you to taking care of yourself

February spreads 💛
i’m gonna binge watch Sex Education later today or tomorrow, so if you see random keyboard smackery on your feed later, i am so sorry 😅 everybody’s just been talking so much about it that i wanna see what all the fuss is about. hopefully Ms. Hair Dye isn’t a manic pixie dream girl and the ending doesn’t make me cry too bad. all i’m hoping for haha.
this was a PSA, y’all, have a good day!
