Apprenticeship blog 2: Code Katas
what it means: Code katas are exercises that are designed to instill good programming habits through repetition.
Secenario 1: Create a program that can convert numbers into Roman numerals, and vice versa.
Scenario 1 Example Implementation: Create a test to see if program exists, then create the program so that the test passes. Next, create a test for converting '1' to 'I', then make sure it passes. Next, create a test for converting '2' to 'II' then make sure it passes. Repeat for all major cases, and and handle "edge cases" (i.e. IV) at the end.
In the video I watched for the above example, the person stated they did this example at least 15 times before making the video, each time having the goal of trying to do it faster and faster by improving how they think about implementing the code. Some people also try giving themselves a tempo to work to by listening to music while working.
