Out of the current POV characters, I always get excited when Regulus rolls around and I get to write from his perspective again. I find it fun to try to write someone who presents himself to the world as cold and unbothered, and yet underneath the surface, there is so much more going on. He is fighting so hard against things that would be good for him because of what he's been through, and it's fun for me to wrestle with that every time he shows up. I also just enjoy narrating everything with a sarcastic and grumpy filter. God, I love that little guy. Can't wait for him to let some more people love him. (Also... he should definitely go to therapy! But he's not ready for that conversation 🙂‍↔️).

Anyway, thank you for writing this fic, and I am so hyped to start season 2 <33

I really appreciate the comment about all the main ships not falling in love with each other first. This was something I wanted to do, especially in a project this long, because it's a part of life for almost all people! Most of us don't end up with the very first person we fall in love with. I wanted James in particular to have that experience of a first love not being the right love.

And thank you for the kind words about Dorcas! Something else that was important to me was for all the women to have storylines that intersect with but don't revolve around the men. I love Dorcas and her friendship with Regulus (in all universes), but she's also got her own stuff going on! All we really know about her in canon is that she was enough of a BAMF to require an in-person takedown by Voldemort, and I really enjoy seeing all the different ways people interpret that in AUs.

I'm working on the next chapter right now—it's one that I've been looking forward to writing from the beginning, so hopefully the writing gods are on my side and I can finish it up much more quickly than this last one! I completely get that Jily isn't everyone's cup of tea, especially people who seek out this fic because it is (at its heart) a Jegulus fic. You 100% have my blessing to skim or skip the Jily-centric scenes.

HOWEVER, the final scene in Chapter 18 (Tim McGraw) and the final scene in Chapter 21 (Superstar) contain moments I'm fairly fond of because they add to the Wolfstar storyline. So I would personally recommend not skipping those bits of the Lily chapters, especially since they're pretty short scenes!
