And in that dark, gravel filled voice he'd say "wot? want some dislocated joints to feel a fraction of their pain?" while cracking his knuckles

The lady turns her nose up and mumbles something about charity cases and how you dont have it that bad

Hed fold up your wheelchair, showcasing how easily he can handle it, muscles bulging

Price would look up from helping you, not even turning around really "you want to repeat yourself, lady?"

Soap

The woman sneered something about belonging in a care facility when needing that much help and you ducked your head

He would whip around so fast after helping you in the car

When you help someone out of a wheelchair and into a car you seem smaller just from bending over and all that

The fright that lady got will live rent free in your head

He would stand back up to his full height and squares his shoulders, cocking his head "you wanna be in a position where you need even more help, miss? No? Then mind your own fucking business"

"Oh yeah? That wheelchairs just for pity. They need god and willpower"

He stabilized you the few steps to the car and shut the door for you before turning to the woman

He would say it while folding your wheelchair, just looking casual to passersby "if you dont want to meet hell on earth I'd advise you to keep your opinions to yourself"

He'd make no scene but that icy glare of his would haunt that ladys nightmares for weeks to come

All of them would grumble the whole way home, having a hand on your thigh and kneading softly. If its to sooth you or themselves you don't know but it works either way.

People like that will always feel the need to comment on things they don't know enough but it's easier to not let them get to you with your man by your side.

The dopamine from crafting is great but the aftermath of working for several hours straight is just... Meh

When John comes home he sees you in your zone, crafting with a focus and only partly registering he's home

The work that was just started yesterday was halfway finished and the audiobook already a new one

He ran his hand over your hair and laid a kiss on your head "'m home lovie"

He knew not to disturb you too heavily until you found a place to stop at

The last time he did that, you lost count of your stitches and had a meltdown

When you finally found a place that felt right to stop at, you looked up and smiled with glee in your eyes

"I'm gonna be an aunt! We'll great-cousin but same differnce! I'm gonna do tunesian crochet so it's easier on my hands."

"I'm crafting a baby blanket for her of course"

The next time the crafting goblin gets to you, John is sighing affectionally and preparing to give you a massage that your occupational therapist showed him

Sometimes its hard to look at older pictures of yourself. Seeing all the bits that were once smooth now turned lumpy. All the places that were once unmarred being marked with angry pink or faded silvery stretchmarks.

Thats what a life of trauma sometimes looks like. Every mental thing marked on a canvas that you couldnt control.

Your men said they liked to hold your soft form and fidget with your Body but sometimes the thought that they'd be disgusted by all the things painted by chronic illness was just too much.

You'd pull back, try to be less, mentally and physically.

soap x chubby reader

If you thought soap was handsy before you haven't seen him drool for you when you're decked out in all your braces

Sure it means you have a low stability phase but he cant help but be mesmerized how your pudge bulged between the straps and snaps, how your rolls became more prominent over and under where the brace sat on your beautifully fat stomach. How you pouted in frustration when the snaps wouldnt fasten and the doe eyed look you gave him when asking for help. His fingers, thick and acarred, made quick work of your knee braces and had you strapped in securely in a few seconds. Pushing the digits between fat and velcro, he tugged a bit which made you slightly wobble in place, shooting you an impish grin, he tugged again but way harder. The result came as wanted, you landing on his lap and his arms anchored round your waist.

"lemme up johnny! I gotta wear the back brace while cooking"

"shhh hen, lemme say goodbye to my favourite gal" before he ducked and started kissing your clothed belly, nearly ripping the shirt to stick his whole head under the gabric when he didnt feel close enough.

You shrieked with laughter when his stubble met the sensitive flesh, feeling his lips kiss and suck the strech marked skin. He once told you he loved how your stripes looked with a hickey so he made it his mission to leave as many as he could, a constellation of his love for you.

His hands were busy kneading your sides like a cat, and if he could he would've purred, feeling your soft form against him and your weight soothing his always running mind. You were like his very own fidget toy. The thin skin of your stretchmarks perfect to trace and fiddle with, the fat nodules like tiny marbles under your skin and always changing, hiding new secrets for him to discover.

When he decided he had enough for now, he helped you to your feet. Well...more like grabbing you and setting you upright.

You wobbled for a moment until he set his paws on your shoulders to stabilize you. Stroking your cheek, he reached behind you to grab your brace and wrap it around your midsection, leaning down to press one last kiss to his 'beautiful gal' before closing it. While doing so he jerked you in his direction, making you stumble into him once more.

"falling for me again, hen?" he smirked and closed the brace fully, tightening the straps to fit your waist better.

"always" you chuckled, pressing a kiss to his jaw and laying your head in his neck.

He always smelled so good. Like sandalwood, smoke and a hint of geranium. It always reminded you of a night spent with him in a log cabin, surrounded by woods years ago.

When you found the strength to pull away he took a step backwards to take a better look at you.

"Crabbification complete" he mumbled with a satisfied smile. God, seeing you laced and tied up in those braces really did something to him.

Not necessarily happy tears but relieved, because they finally got a diagnosis

It's not something one can do much about but they finally got it black on white that there is something

And that their pain is very real when the guys have to help them with basic things
