#coco stex

Okay, so IDK how many of you know this, but when you go on a fandom tag if you click on it, it takes you to this overall page that looks like this:

It basically has a list of every tag used in the fandom tag. If you click on the works button it takes you to the page you're all familiar with. Now, I've literally never seen anyone talk about this but at the top of this page just under the works button you'll see this line with a hyperlink.

Click on it and it will take you to this page that lists every relationship in the fandoms tag organized by character.

Have fun with this new information by the way.

Anyways I started looking through and as per usual was ready to get mad about the whole combined tag thing for both Momma and Poppa and Coco and Bobo, when I realized something. While the "Mama | Poppa" character tag was still there, the "Bobo | Coco" tag was not. Instead there was this:

Bobo as his own separate tag, but with no relationships under it. And I thought "That's odd". So obviously the next thing to do was check for a Coco tag, and lo and behold. There it was.

Coco as her own separate tag but no relationships under it. I clicked the tags and it took me to works that had only ever tagged "Coco (Starlight Express)" and "Bobo (Starlight Express)" on a canon tag page.

But this left the question of, what happened to the original "Bobo | Coco (Starlight Express)" tag? Well obviously it was still there, as AO3 tag wranglers don't change users tags, but instead of being a canon tag that looked like this:

Now when you clicked on that tag, fics were listed this way:

So this means that the AO3 tag wranglers have realized that Bobo and Coco are actually different characters and need separate tags. Yay! However, this doesn't extent to relationships tags, and currently all the ones that tagged with "Bobo | Coco/[Character]" are still canon tags, and even ones that use "Coco/[Character]" or "Bobo/[Character]" are still tagged as "Bobo | Coco/[Character]".

Likely this means that they've started work on fixing the tag situation but haven't gotten to the relationship tags (and by extension got my email), or, the tag is more of a mess than we all realized...it's the former, now can they extend it more tags?

Mmm... i don't really have any strong thoughts or opinions on the nationals ig? I'm not quite as familiar with them

With the exception of Coco, I wasn't planning on any of them showing up-- I've been needing to redo her design w/ the updated design rules for awhile, as well as also just genuinely not liking where her design ended up, but I can show you my last design for her!

She definitely gets the side character treatment, but she's not like...... unimportant

Shes got a longterm ongoing rivalry with Greaseball from childhood, and her showing up ends up being the kind of.... push over the edge thst really makes Greaseball starts descending in to the worst version of herself leading up to the championship races
