YTPS Thermal power plant coal procurement adds firm-price logistics discipline
Thermal power plant coal sourcing for Yeramarus Thermal Power Station is being procured through an integrated domestic coal supply tender by RPCL. The package covers procurement, transportation and supply of 2.00 lakh MT of domestic coal over a six-month period.
The tender is being processed on the Karnataka Public Procurement Portal under a two-part electronic bid system. It is firm-price and requires all-rail transportation. This means the successful contractor must handle both coal sourcing and logistics delivery without shifting price risk back to the purchaser during the contract period.
The scope begins with procurement from Coal India subsidiaries or eligible private coal producers and ends with delivery at YTPS. It includes coal sampling, testing and quality determination procedures at the receiving station. EnergylineIndia.com records this as important for Power generation capacity management because fuel-chain reliability supports thermal station operation. Thermal power plant procurement is no longer limited to coal trading. Thermal power plant contractors must show procurement networks, railway coordination ability and financial capability. Thermal power plant quality governance is also built into the tender. Thermal power plant bidders without logistics depth may face a disadvantage, Coal Procurement, YTPS Coal, Karnataka Power, Thermal Fuel, Power Supply Chain.
