Co-bathed Three times this week with Lily
I've tried to co-bath once before Lily was able to sit up by herself and I constanty just couldn't relax scared she would just slip, but know that she can sit up by herself it's a lot more relaxing.Ā
We sit together and she plays with her rubber ducks, and I wash her then we play together, I quack for her ducks, lightly splash water along with her, and just give tickles.Ā
I'm so much more relaxed by the end of the day when we co-bathe. I feel refreshed, I feel relaxed and I feel a huge serge of love.Ā
This will become a continuous thing I can tell you that for sure
I LOVE to co-bathe!Ā
I hate that any one would consider our parenting method "controversial". I wouldn't say that we are attachment parenting, and we never set off to do things that way, it just kind of happened.Ā We co-sleep, co bathe and breastfeed.Ā We don't have a sling or a wrap yet but we are expecting one for Christmas and we plan on using it.Ā
I take Penny with me every where and she is always in one of our arms other than tummy time or when I'm home alone and she plays on her play mat so I can do some house chores that require two hands.
I guess I just don't know why people find this so controversial.Ā The idea is to bond deeply with your child and create a genuine trust between the two of you.Ā This way your child will feel safe to explore the world knowing you are a safe home base they can trust to always fall back on.Ā That's the kind of relationship I want to have with my child, maybe because it's not really the kind of relationship I had with my parents.
All studies show these methods foster thisĀ kind of relationship with your children.
