I was a severely parentified. My mom ran whole ass illegal daycare she referred to as "Godcare". We'd get locked in the backyard, and I was held responsible if anything happened.

So I read parenting books, and books on education, and child development.

I would continue on to read books about anthropology, biology, psychology, and neuroscience.

I think we've all been there. We look at a relationship in our life whether it be our parents, a romantic partner or a friend of ours, and we ask ourselves, "am I too needy or too clingy in this relationship?" Perhaps we are just trying to have a healthy relationship that includes effort in both parts or perhaps we are becoming too demanding on our partner or friends - and we are being too needy or clingy in our relationship. My daughter recently broke a glass object and immediately screamed, hid and cried. I've never hit her. We always say that accidents happen and we won't get mad at accidents. However, I've struggled with yelling overall lately and she clearly anticipated I'd be angry at her. It took over 5 minutes to help her calm down and believe me that I wasn't angry. She just kept saying "I hid because I thought you'd be mad at me for breaking it." I was so confused, but this video just helped me understand her response. I have never yelled about broken glass. But yelling at other things has created an environment of anxiety because she's anticipating it. I'll be sitting on this for a while.

Our entire day has been spent listening to Baby scream. He started before 8am. It’s about 6:30pm and he’s in bed for the night still screaming. I can keep telling myself it’s trauma, but at some point my empathy wanes and I’ve just got nothing left beyond wanting it to stop. It’s difficult to continue to like a child that is hell bent on being miserable (even knowing logically the reason behind the behavior). Again, at some point the rest of us just need to do more than survive. Is hoping for that fruitless?

We tried to take him outside to get some exercise (walk or bike ride) and fresh air, but he just continued screaming while riding his bike so DH took him home and I walked with E, H, and Pumpkin.

The three mornings before today he was up before 5am. That’s way too early for me. He’s currently in his bed screaming, “I can’t breathe”as he covers his face with a blanket. What even in the world?! DH just went in there and is trying to talk him into doing yoga to try to help him regulate. God bless him, DH has a lot more patience than I do right now.
