Today was rough. He had a horrible nurse today. I gave her the milk I’d expressed overnight and the first thing she said was ‘are you going to breastfeed?’ I’d decided not to breastfeed because he has problems with his blood sugars etc and I’m too anxious not knowing exactly how much he would be getting. I explained that all to her. She said ‘it’s very important that you breastfeed and you need to.’ She ended up getting a lactation consultant in for his next feed and I had to sit there in a room of about 15 people, crying babies, people walking in and out right past my (his bed is next to the door) and beeping machines going off every few seconds and try and feed him. It went ok for a while but when I told his nurse that he was getting too fussy and I’d like the give him the red of his feed in a bottle she wouldn’t let me. She made me try him on the other side. I was literally sitting there crying while she was holding him on me. I don’t make much milk so he wasn’t getting much and he started fussing more to the point that he was screaming. That’s when she finally went and got him a bottle. I ended up talking to a social worker and will be putting in a complaint tomorrow. I’m so nervous that I will have to see her again tomorrow because my social worker already ripped in to her.
Sorry if this doesn’t make much sense, I just needed to get it out.
