I'm very argumentative, which gets me in trouble a lot. This quote makes me think twice about starting an argument with someone, because reducing someone (who holds a lot of power over me) to nothing is often more tempting than getting stressed.

"You are going to have a choice: do you wanna see this world as ugly, or beautiful?" -George Watsky, Letter to my 16 Year Old Self

I love this because it highlights your ability to make something good happen, and that you're the difference between optimism and pessimism, so think before you bitch about something. 

"When you really know who you are and what you like about yourself, changing for other people isn't such a big deal." -Abed Nadir, Community [S1E17]

This isn't one of those inspirational "never change for anyone" quotes, which I like because it acknowledges that change isn't inherently bad and that you can choose the way you display yourself without being a sellout.
