There's apparently a type of coreid bug called the clown bug! Very awesome ⬇️

#2155 - Amorbus alternatus - Alternating Clown Bug
I happened to get a nice sequence of instars over the days I was around Wagga Wagga.
This species of Clown Bug is widespread in the Eastern half of Australia (it's entirely likely that some of the Amorbus I couldn't get down to species before are in fact this one). That, and the diet of eucalyptus sap, are the only things I know about the Alternating Clown Bug.
It’s been so long - and now i tried something more spoopy with dem clowns

#2140 - Amorbus rubiginosus - Rusty Clown Bug
This one is a nymph - the adults are less colourful.
Amorbus rubiginosus has been recorded in all mainland Australian states, but seems to be most common in the SE. The rest of this genus of Leaf-footed Bugs are all endemic to Australia, and are closely associated with Eucalypts.
