Summary: The promised Interceptor recertification has finally arrived and as always, training and recertification on Cloudbase always promises to be a show, especially with two new captains setting their benchmarks.

The cluster of Colour Captains beside the floor to ceiling windows of the Promenade Deck wasn’t entirely unusual, but what was unusual was that they were looking between the sweeping vistas, the two-seater trainer Interceptor darting across the endless blue, and the tablets in their hands with a live feed from the cockpit. 

Training, recerts, and anything else of that ilk was treated as a welcome break from the usual routine of duties interspersed with life or death emergencies, and were considered participatory entertainment onboard Cloudbase. The highly anticipated recertification for the Angel Interceptor in the two seat trainer had finally arrived and it was hard to tell what everyone was more excited for: watching their comrades in the hot seat, watching Blue get a chance to show off, watching Destiny when she took the front seat with Blue in the back for his recert, and watching the Angels get their chance to show off. 

It took the span of three days to get through everyone and the bulk of the time was spent on the far more demanding schedule needed for the Angels and Blue to keep their skills sharp:  landings with simulated airframe problems, simulated dogfights, advanced aerobatic manoeuvres, bombing runs and more.  

For the captains it was far simpler: a list of basic techniques that they’d been practising in the sims, landings and takeoffs, then some more advanced moves depending on their individual skill levels. After that was some ‘free time’ for Blue to show them some higher level techniques for them to practise in the sims for next time.   

Well, that was what was on paper.
