Costa Farms Selects Cloud Logistics TMS to Modernize Its Transportation Management
NEWS RELEASE
WEST PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, Wednesday, March 2, 2016 – Costa Farms, one of the largest growers of ornamental plants, has selected the Cloud Logistics transportation management system (TMS) to help manage their complex distribution network, reduce freight costs, and provide unprecedented visibility to inventory and shipments.
“Given the unique nature of our business - marked by extraordinarily high seasonality, our geographic constraints, and the vast array of specialized carriers we use - managing freight for Costa Farms is particularly complex,” said Ryan McFarland, Transportation and Logistics Director for Costa Farms. “As part of our effort to replace both homegrown and legacy systems, we underwent an extensive search, looking at a wide variety of solutions available today. There was little doubt that Cloud Logistics was the right solution for us. Their combination of innovation, functionality, and usability helped them stand out in a crowded marketplace.”
Costa Farms will use the Cloud Logistics TMS to optimize carrier selection, which is particularly important in their highly seasonal business. During peak season, marrying the right loads with the right carriers will drive substantial savings. During low season, performing that same function while adhering to contractual carrier commitments is essential to maintaining strong carrier relations. The Cloud Logistics solution will also integrate with real time location monitoring, provided by LocusTraxx, giving transportation planners insight to shipment progress and a dynamically recalculated estimated time of arrival (ETA).
Mark Nix, CEO of Cloud Logistics, added, “From our first visit with the Costa Farms team, we knew that this was lining up to be a really special project. The opportunity to work together to tackle the Costa Farms network this summer is incredibly exciting. We’re honored to be partnering with them and look forward to a long and rewarding relationship."
About Costa Farms Costa Farms is one of the nation’s largest growers of ornamental plants. Founded in 1961 by Jose Costa, Costa Farms is a third-generation, family-owned business that globally stretches over 3,500 acres and employs 4,000 people. Along with thriving indoor and bedding plant divisions, Costa Farms operates merchandising and young-plant production divisions as part of its infrastructure, with operations domestically in South Florida and in North and South Carolina, and abroad in the Dominican Republic and the Far East. “2015 was an incredibly rewarding year for Cloud Logistics.” said Mark Nix, Chief Executive Officer of Cloud Logistics. “We designed our software to be different from all of the older solutions available today in the marketplace. It needed to be much faster to deploy for even complex transportation networks. It also needed to be far easier to use than what had become the norm. The most exciting thing is that our plans for 2016 will eclipse our success in 2015 in every way.”

Likewise, there has been a six-fold increase in the number of shippers participating in the Cloud Logistics network. • Six new releases of the product, each with significant functional capabilities and performance improvements • Several clients in the following industries: automotive manufacturing, retail, building products, CPG, home decor, farming, wholesale distribution, and 3PL’s/brokers with headquarters across 4 continents • Introduction of the industry’s first Same Day TMS solution, highlighted by the go-live of Container Centralen • Strategic organizational growth in the areas of executive management, professional services, product development and carrier relations • Introduction of Cloud Logistics into the South African market • Industry awards from CIOReview and Inbound Logistics • The launch of a new website (www.gocloudlogistics.com)

Cloud Logistics Announces Industry’s First Same Day TMS
WEST PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, Monday, September 28, 2015 – Cloud Logistics, a leading innovator in SaaS logistics and provider of next-generation transportation management systems (TMS), introduced the industry’s first Same Day TMS (Transportation Management System) offering at the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP) annual conference in San Diego, California. This new solution leverages Cloud Logistics’ award-winning TMS to enable customers to start their transportation implementation and begin shipping with their TMS all on the same day. Container Centralen (CC) has already proven the value of Same Day TMS with their rapid deployment.
“When we first created Cloud Logistics, our goal was to compress the average project cycle time from months to weeks to days,” said Mark Nix, Chief Executive Officer of Cloud Logistics. “This new offering shows that we surpassed that goal and can now help customers start saving on the first day. Plus, partnering with the innovative distributor CC was a great way to prove we could achieve such an audacious goal.”
For more information on Same Day TMS, click www.samedaytms.com.
John Paulsen, CC’s VP of Operations commented, “Our customers expect top notch service. We need to balance this service with reasonable freight spend. After researching many solutions available in the marketplace, we determined that Cloud Logistics best allows us to satisfy all of our customers while efficiently managing our transportation network. On top of that, no one else came close to being able to deploy in a single day."
Same Day TMS offers the same features that any shipper would expect from a transportation solution. These include freight rating, carrier selection, load tendering and visibility as well as match pay. The solution provides communication with the nearly 1,000 carriers already on the Cloud Logistics network via the Carrier Portal. Additional capabilities, such as mobile, a vendor portal and 3PL billing are also available to the shipper and can be deployed shortly after go-live.
Adrian Gonzalez, President of Adelante SCM and founder of Talking Logistics, offered, "Several years ago, I proposed a concept called 'Software-as-a-Self-Service', in which a shipper could be up and running with a TMS within an hour or two. Such a solution would empower all of those companies currently managing their transportation operations manually. Cloud Logistics’ Same-Day TMS helps brings the industry much closer to this vision of rapid on-boarding and time-to-value."
Cloud Logistics will be demonstrating their solution at the annual Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP) September 27-30, 2015 in San Diego, California.
