Please be aware that ever since the show ended last year, there has been a dedicated troll out leaving hate (deranged, nonsensical hate not even coherent enough to read, most of the time), mostly targeted at new pics. PLEASE DO NOT FEED THE TROLLS. It is tempting to argue with them. They are so dumb they’re like low-hanging fruit, very easy to roast. HOWEVER, they are trolls, so they want your response. Please try to turn off anon comments on your fic. That has helped. If you get hate, please promptly delete the comments, that way the anon doesn’t get the attention they want, you don’t have to deal with them, and readers don’t have to be upset seeing hateful comments in your fics - not to mention this troll has also been attacking other commenters in fics, which could discourage people from commenting on your work as they might not want to be dragged into a fight/attacked by some troll. So please just turn off guest commenting on your fics.

Sometimes fake fics are also posted for attention. Trolls make throw-away controversial fics to spark outrage and attention, and sometimes indeed get plenty of comments and heat for it. This does nothing but give them what they want, and a fic cannot be reported when it is properly tagged. This, like the previous paragraph, requires fandom etiquette - DON’T LIKE DON’T READ. Ignore troll fics so they fade away into obscurity due to lack of kudos and comments and hits. 

Most importantly - COMMENT ON WORKS YOU ENJOY! Even if it’s just a keysmash, comments mean the world to creators and help keep them engaged and inspired to create. Let’s flood the fandom with positivity and kindness!

Stepping off my soapbox now. Let’s have a safe and happy Clexaweek22, and try to find a little joy amidst the general chaos of the world lately.

Here are the themes that won for the upcoming Clexaweek22! If you would like to participate, just create something (write a fic, draw some art, make a moodboard, a video edit, you name it!) that somehow involves that particular theme. Whether you create or not, please participate by supporting each other! :) Reblog posts instead of just liking, and leave nice comments on content! 

And with that, here are our themes!

Day 1: Tuesday, March 1st - Vintage AU

A retro/past decades au. There are plenty of options for this! An early 20th century au where Clexa are suffragettes. A 90s grunge Clexa. A 10th century knight!Lexa princess!Clarke au fighting dragons. 70s Clexa at the disco. Shakespearean Clexa. Anything in the past, whether based on reality or fantasy, have fun with it!

Day 2: Wednesday, March 2nd - Trapped AU

Are roommates Clexa somehow stuck together in quarantine? Are enemies-to-lovers co-worker Clexa stuck in the ice box while closing their shift? Does a sudden acid snowstorm on an alien planet force Clexa to take shelter and cuddle naked together? You decide! 

Day 3: Thursday, March 3rd - 6 Years Later

Ahh, reunions! Are Clexa exes who had a sad breakup in college and they’ve just ran into each other six years later in another country of all places? Are Clexa old best friends who lost touch in middle school and find themselves at the same college together, freshmen sharing a room? Does Wanheda disappear for 6 years and return? Instead of dying in 307, was Lexa instead hidden away and lost her memories, and six years later finds Clarke?

Day 4: Friday, March 4th - Arranged Marriage

Must Clarke marry Heda Lexa for the sake of their people? Do modern Clexa get married to fake date for a spousal visa so one of them isn’t booted out of the country? Are Clexa exes who are somehow forced into a marriage when a dying relative lists that as a requirement of the will? 

Day 5: Saturday, March 5th - Reality TV

Does Lexa help Clarke realize she has a soggy bottom during an episode of the Great British Bake Off? Does celebrity Clarke find herself in over her head when wilderness expert Lexa takes her on an episode of Man vs Wild that goes all wrong? Do exes Clexa catch the room on fire during an intense episode of Chopped? Survivor, America’s Top Model, Nature Documentaries, the Circle, Bachelorette, the list goes on - go wild! 

Day 6: Sunday, March 6th - Be Gay Do Crime

Are Clexa notorious villains that wreak havoc on a city, or are they chaotic goods who act as Robin Hood to their village? Is Lexa an art thief that runs into artist Clarke when she’s trying to steal her work? Is Clarke a graffiti artist that shop-owner Lexa catches vandalizing her walls? You choose!

Day 7: Monday, March 7th - Free Day

For free day, you can do anything you want. You can even use it as an Update Your WIP day!

Wow. This marks five years, half a decade of Clexaweek! Thank you all so much for making this fandom what it is. Clexa has helped shape me as a person. I’ve made so many friends through it. It’s changed my life. And I’m so grateful for all of you. 

And now, without further ado:

Clexaweek2021 will take place from Monday, March 1st to Sunday, March 7th. Here are the themes for the week:

Day 1- Monday, March 1st: Accidental Love Confession

Day 2- Tuesday, March 2nd: Wanna Bet?

Day 3- Wednesday, March 3rd: Reunited

Day 4- Thursday, March 4th: At Work

Day 5- Friday, March 5th: Out of Bounds

Day 6- Saturday, March 6th: Magic

Day 7- Sunday, March 7th: Free Day

Please keep in mind the themes are more of guidelines than actual rules. For example, if you reeeeally hoped that rivals would win, and it didn’t? Well, you can technically make any of the days a rivals au. Your day 4 could include rivals-since-childhood Clexa being forced to be coworkers during a merger at work. If you hoped that Arranged Marriage would win? Your day 2 could include Clexa forced into a marriage after losing a bet. If you really wanted a domestic au? Your day 6 magic au could involve witch Clarke and queen of the dragons Lexa, married and tending to the babies at home. You can make anything whatever you want, so be creative and have fun! 

Rules for tagging: makes sure to tag #Clexaweek21 and the day and prompt first before any other tags to make it easier for me to compile the master list.

So for example the first day, your tags should be #Clexaweek21  #Clexaweek21 Day 3 #Day 3 reunited #reunited (and then the others for the other days, ofc)

If you post your fic on ao3, you should also add it to the collection Clexaweek2021.

Submit a link to your post or directly to your work, whatever you would prefer, so that I can share/reblog it. Here is the link for that. Here are the guidelines for posting. Send me an ask if you have any questions. (Yes you are welcome to post your work early if circumstances prevent you from doing so day of, just be aware I will not share it until the day of (I’ll try to schedule it then, too). If you are late that’s okay too- I’ll share it when you have it, though try to do it on time that way you get more exposure since people will be looking for it! 

Please also use this google form to input information about what you are sharing. This makes it far easier to compile a masterlist at the end of Clexaweek, that way I can reblog a post where people can see what you made!
