The Cloud and Terra dynamic in the FF spin offs is one of the most endearing to me because they can relate due to their similar trauma from isolation and the abuse they’ve faced from one who held power over them and their identity so they can bond through that. The difference being that Terra managed to discover an identity of her own through the bonds she made throughout her journey, whereas Cloud never really escaped from the 'what ifs' and the survivor's guilt he faced after losing his family, Aerith and Zack. It's because of this that Terra is able to see who she used to be in Cloud and wants to help him figure who he wants to be as she still is figuring that out for herself and is aware that it's never really something you can truly move past but can eventually find your own comfort.
