You can not write “dysfunctional” without “fun”
When I first read the books, I always really liked how desperate Sebastian was for Clary. Like, even though she hated him, he really couldn't care less. I think that's so romantic. And the way that he would pull strings while they were travelling around. Like knowing that she was using her ring to communicate. And taking anything that she could have used to write stuff down with. And saying all of that stuff about how Jace would spend the rest of his life, thinking that she liked her breakfast done a certain way. I don't know how to describe it.
It really has this feeling of like, "Yeah, I love you and I'm gonna make sure that you don't fuck us over, but I don't care if you don't love me back." I am a sucker for a self-aware villain lol.Â
Ahhh, and I just remembered the scene where she sneaks out and follows him and he's aware of it ❤️❤️❤️ And she says, "Great, so you were going to manslaughter me" or something. And he says, "It's only manslaughter if I use a car"
I don't know how to describe it. He loves her, but he can see right through when she's lying and sincerely doesn't give a fuck that she's trying to fuck them over. It's so cool. Ahhh ❤️❤️❤️

Okay but Clary wanting Jace even though he's her brother...finding out that he isn't actually her brother. Sebastian being her actual brother and kissing him and it feeling wrong. The whole thing is just..funny. Like WE BELIEVED CLACE WERE SIBLINGS FOR 3 BOOKS. She didn't feel wrong loving him and kissing him. But Sebastian she's like well this is very wrong. It's just interesting haha.
