Lestat said at the top of the scene very openly that he wasn’t there and whilst he might know now roughly how the conversation went, we are viewing this through the eyes of someone who believes that Louis never actually loved him and only cared about Claudia, so of course he see it that way.

Yes. I definitely consider myself a Louis fan and had zero problem calling him out and saying he was the main problem in his marriage and had no boundaries with Claudia.

But I am irritated that so many people are already assuming that Louis is going to kill her or become her lover. it just seems like people want Louis to be the villain because they are mad that he was saved and not Claudia.

Which makes no sense because Claudia dying is central to their storyline. She was never going to be saved. And Louis turning someone slightly older than Claudia and ruining her life, wouldn't make him feel better.

My theory, Louis realizes that his grief is taking over so he reaches out to Lestat for confirmation. I think Regina isn't going to look like Claudia but someone else. This is when Louis really spirals and goes to the medium to reach out her and that is when the Merrick book comes into play.

I really have a theory, Regina is going to scam the hell out of Louis. Just like Claudia plotted Lestat's murder. Also we got a clue with one of the poster on the walls that said something about being a Gold Digger.

No one in this show is innocent. So the twist could be Regina is way too savvy and Louis is already too caught up. And I don't see her as some helpless victim.

Seriously, I could see Regina running game on poor Louis. He then will really feel lost, which makes him maybe go try to bring back the real Claudia's ghost.

Also it is a theme that the women on this show, find men useless or for sex. We see it definitely with Gabi. But also Christine and Dee use sex to advance their careers. Even Baby Jenks did too to trap Lestat in episode one. So even though Regina isn't going to have sex with Louis, it won't be surprising if she using her emotional charm over him.

This also aligns with older Boomer and Gen X feminism, which AR would have promoted more than victimhood. And of course, this could play into Akasha trying over the world.

yes I think the cast avoids talking about certain issues. assad said he avoids talking about certain things because of the fandom response. probably referring to when he said armand was doing a mercy/favour killing claudia or something similar or when he talked about louis being a former pimp affecting loumand relationship with armand's history.

I have a feeling Rolin, Mark, and Hannah plan to hide behind the writer's ethnicity and sexual orientation. As much as I adore Jacob and Delainey, they are British. They do not share the same understanding of racial issues of Black Americans. Look at the great divide between Black Americans and Black British after what happened to Michael B. Jordan and Delroy Lindo at the BAFTA. Look at how dismissive British David Oyelowo is about the Black American experience.

I'm not gonna say anything until I see E6 but if they pile on the racism, especially in this climate that's hostile to Black Americans, they will have to answer for it and explain the "why" they felt it was necessary. Anti-Blackness is a serious global problem, abd we can't ignore it.

AMC needs a Black American advisor on their team. Remember that video of the all white team of writers, which they took down and begged people to take down? This should tell you EVERYTHING!

Thank you for your perspective, Anon. I do think it is important to consider that Louis and Claudia ARE Black American characters and to evaluate their interaction from that perspective. Is it authentic in context? Is it gratuitous? Two Black characters can say things to one another that others cannot. Black American culture permeates television and music and is echoed world wide. And a lot of people either resonate with it or emulate it.

Jonathan also cowrote the Night Island pilot and treatment together with a well-known Black writer. SO, I am:

1. Unwilling to claim that he is being inappropriate; but not willing to give him an automatic pass. That means I can be critical without being unreasonably angry, I can ask him to do better. He did write alongside Black writers for at least a season (and I don’t know anything about his previous experience),

2. Black British actors will continue to play Black Americans—Jacob and Delainey are not the first, nor will they be the last. But writers should always have culturally authentic representatives on staff to read and provide feedback. That doesn’t guarantee anything though.
