Lestat showing off and doing the most for Louis. Love to see it
Ok. I guess it’s time for me to catch up
https://x.com/i/status/2075742138944368659
She heard Lestat say he doesn't like being alone. Now why am I emotional at this would be kidnapper-kidnapee relationship?

It’s giving a cross between stalker and sweet lol
I mean, I'm happy with the Loustat scenes, but God… what kind of writing is this?
After the last episode with Akasha's incredible scene and writing, it made me realize something is wrong, and that some biases are playing out with certain characters
Isn’t it true that different writers wrote for different characters?
Didn’t Jacob say that Lestat learned to speak modern English by watching YouTube?
Hi, guys! It's been a while since I've dropped by. Life's been pretty hectic lately, especially because next week I'm finally going on vacation with one of my friends for a whole week. I genuinely can't wait—I need this break so badly.
Also, just like you, I'm behind on my Episode 5 review because... I still haven't watched it. I've just been way too busy. That said, I have to admit I pretty much share the feelings a lot of the anons have been expressing about this season. Unfortunately. And I really do mean unfortunately.
I think you can tell just by the fact that the hype isn't really there anymore. At least not for me. I don't have that almost visceral excitement waiting for each new episode to drop and wondering what happens next. I'm honestly kind of frustrated because I feel like they've killed the vibe of the season, mostly with the writing choices. To me, they've tried to do way too much. There's too much going on, it's messy, it's chaotic. I understand why they had to rename the season The Vampire Lestat, and that's totally fine with me, but I keep thinking about people who are only discovering the show now and haven't seen the first two seasons. I can't even imagine how confusing this must be for them. It's honestly hard to follow. I'm still holding off on making any final judgments since there are still episodes left, but as of right now I genuinely think Seasons 1 and 2 are the real masterpieces. Season 3 absolutely has some incredible moments—partly because of the music (even though I'm not completely sold on every song) and especially because of Sam's performance—but my ranking is still Season 1, Season 2, then Season 3. That's where it stands for me. Either they find their footing again in Season 4, or... I honestly don't have the best feeling about where this is going.
The writing really needs work. It's become too convoluted, too chaotic. They've spent way too much time on certain characters. For example, I absolutely adore Lestat's band, don't get me wrong, but like someone else already pointed out, it's a pretty minor part of the book. I think they could've used that time to develop other storylines that would've mattered a lot more. The flashbacks didn't really land for me either. Even Nicki's relationship with Lestat wasn't explored nearly enough. And then there's Jacob...
I adore Jacob. My favorite actors in the cast are still Sam and Jacob. Jacob is unbelievably talented. They gave the poor man what... two scenes this entire season? And somehow he still managed to make every single one unforgettable. There's so much depth in his acting, and honestly, I don't think he has anything to envy when it comes to anyone else in the cast. Everyone talks about Sam—and yes, Sam is amazing, I completely agree—but Jacob's talent feels incredibly natural. He didn't come from formal acting training. That's just his talent. Imagine what he could do if he'd had the same formal drama school training that some of the others did. Seriously, think about it. He's absolutely phenomenal, and honestly... there are moments where, for me, he even surpasses Sam. Please don't come for me after saying that. 😅 That's just genuinely how I feel.
I'm also a little disappointed with how they've handled Armand and Daniel this season. I don't know... something just feels off. On a more positive note, I really like Sheila's performance. Marius, though... has been a huge disappointment for me so far, from what we've seen.
Anyway, I'll save my full review until I've actually watched Episode 5 properly. I want to sit down, pay attention, and give it the focus it deserves.
Hope you're all doing well, and I'll be back soon!

The fact AMC started hyping up E6 less than 24 hours after E5 premiered tells me they know enthusiasm for the show is maybe dropping off.
?? AMC has been posting about Akasha, and Lestat and Claudia. They always, in season 2 and in every episode of this season posted stuff about the next episode immediately. Of course they do, they post the trailer and tease what's coming, that's no different this week than it's been every other week of the show, across the two seasons I've been on here. But they've also been talking about Akasha on the AMC account in various places and there's a huge amount of buzz about her. Of all the episodes of the season to claim this about, this one makes the least sense.
This season got fantastic reviews and, per AMC, the numbers have really exceeded their expectations. People are very hyped about what they did with Akasha, to the point that she's been trending and there are a lot of articles about her.
People have every right to be disappointed if there's stuff they don't like, but let's not let disappointment color our perception of reality.

I don't know if AMC is hyping up episode 6 soon after episode 5 because they think enthusiasm for this season is waning. They have been dropping stuff from next episodes right after an episode airs all season. The reception is mixed in fandom but people are still talking about it. In the end all any network wants is engagement, positive or negative. They already said TVL is overperforming their expectations in streaming and streaming revenue is what AMC is focusing on right now according to an interview from their CEO last year. I just hope they get enough budget for next season and I hope the writers really sit and think about how to approach the show again. Changes has to be made.
I agree. I think the show will definitely be renewed. I think they’re gonna make some changes, because the next season theoretically really should be from a Akasha’s view but VO’d by Lestat, right?
They are also hyping the hell out of Sheila and that is a good thing if she’s going to be heavily featured next season
People keep talking about queer intimacy but we're not seeing ANY intimacy, including with Lestat and women. As that other poster said, even with Lestat and Gabriella (which shouldn't count since it's abuse), look at what we've actually seen and compare it with Louis and Lestat in season 1. Their mouths are almost completely hidden when they kiss (do we see their lips meet, ever?) and it's all quick. The Nickistat flashes were more sexual than anything we saw between Louis and Armand last season, but they too are all very quick. Lestat doesn't want to think about these things.
I think we are going to have an incredible Loustat moment in the finale, and the intimacy and romanticism of that will be a stark contrast to everything before it.
Also, episode 5 is currently the third highest rated episode of the show across all three seasons. No, I don't think AMC is moving past it, they're treating this like they treat every episode and they're posting about Akasha.
Interesting observation, Anon.
