Indulge in the delightful combination of chocolate and pear with this simple yet elegant tart. The rich dark chocolate complements the sweetness of the ripe pears, all encased in flaky puff pastry. A perfect dessert for any occasion.
Ingredients: 1 sheet of pre-made puff pastry. 3 ripe pears, peeled, cored, and thinly sliced. 100g dark chocolate, chopped. 1/4 cup granulated sugar. 1/4 cup apricot jam. 1 tablespoon water. Powdered sugar, for dusting optional.
Instructions: Preheat the oven to 375F 190C. Place the puff pastry sheet on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Arrange the pear slices over the pastry, leaving a border around the edges. Sprinkle the chopped chocolate over the pears. Fold the edges of the pastry over the pears, forming a rustic crust. In a small saucepan, combine the granulated sugar, apricot jam, and water. Heat over low heat until the sugar is dissolved and the mixture is smooth, stirring constantly. Brush the apricot glaze over the pears and pastry. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and the pears are tender. Once baked, remove from the oven and let cool slightly. Dust with powdered sugar if desired before serving.
