#classpecting characters

Also a fun one, again because of their well-defined characters and interactions with each other! Also, two out of three of them still fit their color schemes :3

Thanks to her easygoing, anything-goes nature, her tendency to prefer the outside world to her own mind, her fun-loving attitude and ability to make quick friends wherever she goes, and her unwavering commitment to defending the freedom of those she loves, I dub Anne Boonchuy the Prospit-dreaming Knight of Breath!

Thanks to her happy and wondering nature, natural curiosity, rapid adaptation of everything she learned to new circumstances, love of games and stories full of lore, and needing to break free of her reliance on others for approval, I dub Marcy Wu the Prospit-dreaming Witch of Light!

Ok so, I've always been of the opinion that Bakugo is just Eridan in a Vriska way. This might not exactly make sense at first but let me explain.

Bakugo's main goal is to win at everything he does, but especially becoming the strongest and the #1 hero. At least in the beginning, he has an unwavering belief that he will succeed at any cost and that failure is not an option. His view of the world is pretty black and white, there's heroes and villains and everything else is just extra. He devotes himself completely to his goals because he knows that he has to work for it, and if he doesn't work for it then it doesn't count. Sounds pretty Hopeful, right?

But if his Aspect is Hope, how does he interact with it? I'm sure we all can agree that Bakugo is a destructive person, that's literally his power! But does he destroy Hope, or destroy with Hope? Well he's definitely tried his best to destroy Midoriya's hope, especially since they had similar goals. To him Midoriya symbolized the extra part of his black and white views, the part that didn't matter. By striving to be a hero Midoriya was challenging Bakugo's worldview, his Hope, so he decided to destroy Midoriya's Hope first.

Now on the other hand, I'd say his main interaction with his Aspect is destroying with Hope. His aspirations and goals fuel his motivation, he destroys everything in his path in the name of his Hope. And that's really all there is to say on the matter :P

So there you have it! In my opinion, Bakugo Katsuki is a pretty good example of a Prince of Hope! 

Life seems so obvious, considering his fixation with life and death and decay and the processes, but in Sburb, the aspect of Life is about abundance, wealth, the richness and activity of life. That isnt the role he plays, thats not the anchor of his fixation.

Space, too, seems like an obvious choice. The aspect of Space is concerning creation. It's creativity, it's physics, it's momentum and just physical STUFF. But Viktor doesn't give a fuck about that. He was told to study the Sciences, and he only cared about Chemistry. He becomes fixated with the idea of creating life, at one point he considers the pride of being the father to a new species. But that is the application of his fixation, thats the product of his endeavor. Creating the creature is only a side effect of what drives him and what makes him.

He's a Hope hero. He is enamored with the magical and mystical dreamings of ancient philosophers. He's disillusioned away from science when he sees "modern" science as being without dreamers and aspiration. He doesnt give a fuct about Fact and Truth (Rage aspect), he lives and breathes for confirmation of his Dreams. His Beliefs. He only respects a person or thing when it is attractive to him. He repeatedly calls the professor he doesnt like ugly (not in those words) and the professor he does like handsome (also bot in those words but im not copy/pasting the flowery language here). His sister/lover is both beautiful and angle-like, those two things are intrinsically linked for him. Anyone he finds ugly is therefore a bad person. Anyone he dislikes personality-wise must therefore be ugly.

I got really invested in potential storylines around these two from reading some fanfics a little while back, and in the process of figuring out their characterization for my own take on that I ended up with Classpects I really like for both of them! Enjoy.

All Barriss ever wanted was to help people, to enjoy peace and see people living happy lives. Thrown into the darkness of a war, she was torn from the world she wanted to live in and quickly began losing faith in the structures around her, as more and more people were hurting and dying around her at every turn, no matter her efforts to heal them. She couldn't handle the weight of it all, and began thinking in terms of the Greater Good: what was a few innocents dying, if it helped end the greater war? Based on her constant visions of a better, more peaceful life for the citizens of the galaxy, her dissatisfaction with authority and inward-turning mindset, and her self-destruction through the sacrifice emblematic of Doom, I deem Barriss Offee the Derse-Dreaming Seer of Life!

Ahsoka has always been the underdog, the trainee, learning and growing under the tutelage of master after master. The Jedi as a whole, then Anakin & Obi-Wan as individuals, and everywhere she goes she picks up more and more things to learn and incorporate into her own being. Guided along the paths laid out by her teachers, it took Ahsoka a long time to break away, to try her hand at picking and choosing what she wanted to learn and where she wanted to take it, but she got there in the end, turning the great power of her own person to the ends she wanted, and guiding others along to their own paths as well. Based on her life being defined by tutelage and guidance, inheriting her views and her goals, her adaptability to outside change and being content in greater systems, and how a major step in her progression involved learning to turn her identity and passion to her own decisions and morals, I deem Ahsoka Tano the Prospit-Dreaming Heir of Heart!

[Barris's classpect came easily to me, it seemed so obvious once I got into her mindset as told by the various fics that explore it more than the show did, although it fits her canon characterization as well. Plus, you can't tell me the Seer robes don't fit her aesthetic. Ahsoka's took a lot longer, as for all she's one of the main characters her ideals are remarkably fluid at first glance, which ended up actually being the key to it: her ideals *are* fluid, because her identity and what she does with it are all guided by others at first, the way Heirs tend to be. Also, this means she matches everything but dreaming moon with our lovely Hal Strider, or at least the classpect I will die on a hill for him :p. It seems strangely fitting.]

Dipper and Mabel work well because of how much they contrast each other, and also how strong their characterization is leading to pretty easy Classpecting!

Thanks to his reserved and skeptical attitude, his fascination with knowledge and information as well as general genre-savviness, and his revered information coming from an admired figure, I dub Dipper Pines the Derse-dreaming Heir of Light!
