The point is:

Not ALL of Rocky is 300lbs. I'm going to make some assumptions that may be different between book and movie but aren't outright stated anywhere.

Let's assume half of Rocky's mass is in his core because that kind of makes sense to me. That's where all the important organs are, most animals have large torsos and (comparatively) smaller limbs. So let's estimate Rocky's core to be ~150lbs.

Which leaves ~150lbs for his limbs. All of them.

150÷5=30

Each of Rocky's limbs (assuming uniformity and that his core makes up only 1/2 of his total mass) are only 30lbs.

Grace could absolutely and with /ease/ handle having one of those limbs draped over him regularly. My dog is almost 30lbs. Grace could sleep with one of Rocky's limbs on him is not only possible but a great idea if Grace (like me and probably lots of you) like pressure like weighted blankets to sleep with.

And this is assuming Rocky's core is ONLY 1/2 of his body mass. Based on some simple research, most estimates of a person's "whole trunk" is actually more than 50%, and we have a comparable amount of limbs (including our head/neck). So, I mean, Rocky's core might take up less of a % compared to our "trunk"s because Eridians have a whole fifth limb not just a head, but also their biology is different and probably their cores have more concentration of mass co.pared to libs anyway what with a closed respiration system and whatever other speculative biology is involved.

Like, yeah, a lot of those style choices are probably because she is a closeted trans girl but to be fair, all the boys I went to school with that looked exactly like that (with THAT striped shirt and THAT haircut) are probably girls now too.

And yet locally, I feel like it's not as bad as it was last year. Granted I work nights so I sleep through the hottest part of the day, but I did last year too. And I 100% think the humidity has been cartoonishly horrible, but not consistently. There was a week where, in the middle of the night, I felt like I existed directly above a boiling pot of water, but that was a few weeks ago and since then it's been... ok? Like, kinda humid, pretty warm, but I'm not worried I'm going to get heat stroke in my shifty apartment that has really, really bad ac.

Maybe my perception of "normal" has changed and I don't remember what the summer used to be like when I was younger, when it still was different from when my parents and grandparents grew up with, but lately, the summer heat hasn't been unbearable*

*unbearable for me specifically, who has always my whole life handled heat better than my peers and who has only been outside between 8am-10pm when I go to the pool with a friend

Rocky repeatedly calling Grace out for being stupid when he's tired. Grace fully being on board with the concept and agreeing but still repeatedly trying to do important science and getting worked up/frustrated only for Rocky to completely disregard Grace's concerns by saying "you're tired and stupid, take a nap and you'll realize the answer is so obvious" and every time Grace does sleep and every time he wakes up and goes "oh dang the answer is right there I feel silly for missing out now".
