This will be me today aboard the America 2.0 out of Chelsea Piers! Phase 2 allowed her to sail today! I even got 20% off ‘cuz I’m a regular. Of course that’s me when I was about 18 years old. But then, I feel young when I’m sailing, so it counts. I’ve also sailed on that EXACT boat in Key West. She winters there and my sailboat was docked like 1 pier over from her when I spent a month there a couple of years ago! Welcome to the Fall Foliage boat ride offered by @classicharborline at Chelsea Piers. The kids love this and it’s something they look forward to every year. It was a beautiful fall day in NYC and a great day to be on the Hudson River. The ride takes you up the Hudson River from Chelsea Piers almost to the Mario Cuomo Bridge formerly the Tappan Zee Bridge and back. The ride included brunch and a drink, it is a great deal and one of the touristy things that I recommend for native New Yorkers. Classic Harbor Line runs boat tours on classic vessels designed by Scarano Boat Building of Albany NY. Scarano specializes in historic looking vessels that are built for accommodating guests in comfort and style. It is their combination of the best of old world charm and technologically advanced boat building techniques. The boats offer teak decks, mahogany trim, and carbon fiber rigging. They are beautiful vessels and the ride is always comfortable, classy and enjoyable. The Brotherhood Winery is a winery in Washingtonville, New York in the Hudson Valkey. With its first commercial vintage produced in 1839, it is commonly acknowledged to be the oldest operating winery in the United States. In 2000 it was added to the National Register of Historic Places. The winery's slogan is "America's Oldest Winery". I believe this wine is 100% Chardonnay but don't quote me on that. This sparkling wine is light straw yellow in color with fine bubbles and has a bright aroma of pears and green apple. Crisp and dry, a gentle mouth feel provides hints of citrus fruits on the palate and has an elegant finish.
