#class thing

For assignment 3, we've been tasked with creating or improving our personal brand identity, we then have to make a logo and work the brand towards how wed market to clients, and push our brands  to be successful and real world ready. 

The goal is to make this the best we can and then potentially be as a starting point for a real brand, and if not then to show off in a portfolio format for clients to see  and demonstrate our skills towards marketing a brand and making it work in real time. 

Well what makes a good design?

-In my option a good design is something that successfully accomplishes its goal/purpose of being designed while still looking nice or being creative in some way to its function. Like how a maps purpose is to lead people to there destination, but the map shouldn’t just be some squiggles on a page, it needs to be organized and look similar to the area it’s mapping. 

The Nintendo switch logo is a good design in my option, I think it’s playful and gets the point across, even with out saying what it is. It’s got a simple image that shows exactly what the system looks like. Anyone who sees this knows exactly what it is and where it belongs.

I think it was done well having the main demographic being gamers and children, it’s simple and to the point , playing with opposite colours and is very clean and crisp.

I also enjoy the fedex logo, I think it being two colours is nice, keeping the point simple and this logo is also a bit playful, with the arrow in the e and x to symbolize delivery.

The logos very recognizable, it doesn’t need to be flashy or to crazy.

An bad design that I am not to fond of would be the huge Q on the Montana’s door, it isn’t a very nice looking peice of decor and it’s function is the door handle, I feel like it being this isn’t very practical, having the door handle sorta low or even on a weird circle shape to form the Q. It also seems kinda dumb to just pull the q from bbq, why not include the entire word?

It could have been improved by using a normal handle or having a nicer and cleaner look, Montana’s is a fancy ish restaurant and it abbreviating the letter like this makes it look silly and a lot less high quality the store attempts to gain for itself.

Montana’s it’s self could though have nicer fonts in genreal, the design for Montana’s logos are ugly and make the restaurant look dirty and cheap, when it is trying to look more bougie then it acatully is.
