1-Thoughts on the cast: marie is super super cringey to me, like. she's got great physicality and that makes her believable as a badass but her emotional range is crap, and has been from the beginning. eliza is so so underrated. i remember being half-invested in the show and really into clexa but then ET's delivery of "i tried to be the good guy" in 2x16 was SO compelling and rlly made me fall in love with the show as a whole (rip me). ADC was fortunate with the crew/writers in bringing together
such a unique character – and bringing that impassiveness to lexa that makes her so interesting to watch, but then slowly revealing that vulnerability. She rlly struck gold, and I think a lot of what made lexa such a big deal was a combo of timing, crew collab, and some smart, super key acting choices for the character. ET and ADC def elevated each other like whoa. Lindsey I think is the strongest of them all – I think eliza sometimes comes across like she’s reading lines, sometimes over forcefully, even though her emotional range is great. Lindsey always comes across organic no matter what script she’s given. Tbh same with devon, even though I don’t care for jasper. Chris is just bad. also for whatever reason, I rewatched 303 super stoned which makes me hyper critical of acting, and the whole time I kept thinking the girl that played gina was this PHENOMENAL actress. Have yet to revisit the ep since that viewing to see if theres any credibility to that theory.
I agree with about half of this. Marie: absolutely agree. Devon: don’t agree at all. Chris: agree: Gina: don’t agree.
I still don’t think Lindsey is the best of them all. I just think in a 3B where Eliza had barely anything to work with Lindsey had a fucking AI possession to make her shine. It’s what’s most recent in people’s memories and I see why that could be assumed, but when you take everything into account Lindsey really isn’t a stronger actress than Eliza. And by saying that I don’t mean that Eliza is great in every scene. I touched upon this earlier. She absolutely has scenes that you can literally see her reading off the lines. You know when I’ve noticed that? When she’s working with the worst actors of the group. There’s scenes you can literally tell she just wanted to wrap so she could get out of there. When you’re in those working conditions I don’t blame her.
