Silence. Silence had been ever present in the days passing their battle. It seemed to worsen at night and, at times like these, when Sofia was not around. Right now, she was under the care of Jake’s mother while [name] and Jake were out to run some errands and to spend some time together.
The silence may have been deafening, but the growing guilt and self torture that [name] put herself through was worse. She had improved somewhat, and returned back to her normal self, and perhaps she would have improved even more if she pulled herself together more than what Jake was encouraging.
She let out a long exhale as she turned from the window to look at her husband. He had his eyes on the road, and for a second, she hesitated; this was going to throw him off. She briefly pondered over what would happen if he lost control and they either ended up in the hospital or dead. “I never aborted him,” she spoke coolly, “You know, I probably would have in the past. It was always the obvious way to go. But now… I don’t think I could go through another procedure like that. Even if things are happening way too damn soon.”
